It's not the same, you play two sides of the fence, ie. gangsters and cops in Sleeping dogs;
But GTA V story was way better ;) overall - because there's four characters;
Both games are great, very out there, but GTA story is amazing; Sleeping Dogs story is great;

I highly disagree when it comes to which has better story thought GTA V has a hell of allot more story than Sleeping Dogs, I prefer Sleeping Dogs not short but certainly not long story compared to GTA V's drawn out story.

It was a question, lol not an opinion or agreement, or disagreement lol but GTA is more about robbing rich people - ie banks, heists; broken family life; broken relationships; trying to fix them; etc.

I really enjoy sleeping dogs definitive edition the game looks gorgeous all the activities be it cop/thug helps build you up in the game are fun and the story is well done and different . The fighting is very satisfying at times. There is gunplay as well in story and in free roam you can cause havoc and cops will go after you guns blazing alot . Gets compared to a GTV game alot some is similar but the 2 sided story changes this

you can't compare.
sleeping dogs is gritty, realisic, and serious (based off real life events and characters)

GTA is humourous, satirical and over-the-top in quite a few instances.

so it's really up to your prefrences

GTA V is more like some dragged out TV Show, focusing on so many characters and cameos that it's at a loss for anything conceive, where there story adapts to the world and characters. While Sleeping Dogs is opposite, more like a story rich movie. In the sense that the story takes on the central role and the characters and world adapt it and follow it's lead. Making Sleeping Dogs well worth playing through and the clear choice if story is what you're after.
