Same timestamps.
would not have wasted time typing replies for cheaters.
Because that somehow makes a difference. What someone else does in their single player game obviously matters deeply to you.
Oh, but thanks for the actual answer.
It makes zero difference other than wondering why bother?
That's a reasonable explanation, if it helps you enjoy the game without having to focus on the achievements then that's great...
Most times they're either just guaranteed things you get simply by playing (beat story missions or bosses, unlock guaranteed items, etc) or they're things that force restricted and often pointless gameplay (kill boss X with a pistol instead of your machine gun).
I don't really mind ones that are actual accomplishments (like beating a level without being hit, or finding secrets and such), as long as they don't force players to abandon basic gameplay methods. I mean, if you have a shooter that's all about guns and variety, I think that any achievement that basic forces someone to use specific loadouts is a bad thing. It goes against the core idea of the game.
But anyway, that's just my view. I know there are people out there who get insanely dedicated to the whole achievement/trophy thing. Which is a big market now in console gaming that companies are taking advantage of. Making games full of achievements that are quick to get through, which gets the achievement hunters to buy a game, play through it, and then trade it in for the next title to do the same. I just can't wrap my head around that personally though. I mean, I play the game to enjoy the game, but I see so many out there who don't give a crap about games, just the achievements tied to them.
Which is why you should not be using a medical condition that is serious to explain away nonsense nobody cares about.
I would imagine OCD comes in different levels of intensity, so I'd cut him some slack personally. I asked the question and content with the response...
It comes in levels of convenience also.
I know people who have serious issues with OCD, and they suffer even more from the fact that "everyone" now has it, thier serious issues are taken less serious, because of trivial nonsense like the reasons given in this thread.
As to your original question, you asked it in a public forum so it will be seen and responded to by the public (me). Dont speak in public if you dont want responses from the public and dont expect to control the conversation because you asked a question.
Do I care that OP cheated his achivements? No
Do I think its stupid?, yes.
But its not like they affect gameplay as in some games (Like Payday2) so who cares.
Too bad it cheapens it for other people who try do things legit.
All that bothers me is the use of a medical condition to justify something. And the only reason to justify it is defense, and the only reason to be defensive is because you know its "wrong".
