Horrible Performance on a high-end PC
Hey. I recently picked up this game, and for some reason, it runs horribly on my pretty high-end PC. As for GPU and processor, specs are as follows:
GeForce GTX 1660 Ti
Intel Core i7-9700 @ 3.00GHz

Does anyone know why this game runs at less than 20 or 15 FPS, even on low settings? Are there any fixes?

Disable msaa.

Thanks for the quick reply. It turned out disabling MSAA and uncapping my frames solved most of my issues.

"Extreme" MSAA is bugged, though every other setting should work, if you wanna have it on to some degree.

Yeah, one problem I still have is awful stuttering. It's not every-once-in-a-while, it's every other second at the worst and every fifteen seconds at the best.

what settings and resolution are you running at, and what do you get in the benchmark...?

Maybe they're confusing "High End" with "New". I doubt most average gamers realize that the (semi-recently released) 1660 is just the 1060 with a few Tensor cores added for running Ray Tracing and DLSS. Considering the general performance that I get out of an RTX 2070, I shudder to think of what kind of meltdown a 1660 would have. Personally, I'd recommend people steer clear of the Tensor-enabled GPUs, unless running 2x 2080 because they have more money than they need.

i7 2600k

I can run this game at 1080P with 60fps 99% of the time.
the only problem are the cutscenes being really choppy because they are rendered at 30fps.
it would have mean more work for the devs to uncap them.
because doing so would have mean more testing to make sure there would be no audio sync problem or some mess with the physics engine.

I dont think its bugged. Just not explained very well. If i am not mistaken it actually downsamples a higher resolution. Like DSR... So if you are playing at 1080 and have it set to it to extreme, you are basically playing at 4k now. Because i get the exact same framerate and video memory usage at extreme with res at 1080P or selecting 4k res with DSR enabled.
So it tank my frames to 30s if I have the res set to 4k and select extreme.. Basically doubling the 4k res i set in game.

I just want a way to disable FXAA, and play with my DSR 4k with crisper textures.

I've disabled FXAA in my nvidia control panel but it doesnt seems to work. there must be a way to do it. maybe by tweaking ini files ?

Yeah.. I believe i looked for this ways back.. Even before DE. Found nothing to do or confirm. Like its cooked into the engine. Damn consoles. ;-)

it's not high end

@Alin. Thank you so much for the solution! Just by turning AA from extreme to normal, my GPU temperature went from 75° C to 50° C in seconds.
