Whether it's worth it or not is hard to say. If you really liked SD, then I'd say to get the DE. The improvements make the game look better, but the improvements are rather subtle. You might not even notice the improvements until you go back to the original. While the visual overhauls make the game look better, the gamepay changes might take a bit to get used to.
There's also some control bugs. Not being able to bind movement to the up, down, left and right keys from the original is gone, but there is now a bug where bouth Mouse 5 and Mouse4 input is read as Mouse 5 when rebinding keys. This can be slightly corrected via input binding software; bind Mouse4 as Mouse5 in an input binding program, however you won't be able to bind Mouse5 to anything else.
IMO, it's worth it, but that's largely because I love SD and was even a fan of Triad Wars. I think this is a great game, at its core, and it's really sad to see that the devs have gone under and SquEnix (seeiingly) have no interest in furthering the IP.
Definitive edition has done a much better job. Considering the price at the moment of the game.. it really is worth it.

Find the original through your own means. The company who made the game for squeenix died. So you're 5 dollars just goes to Square and whoever they contracted to make this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ PS4 port.
Thanks for this detailed comparison video. So basically the definitive edition generally looks worse than the original as the DE has much more washed out lighting, lower quality reflections and character texture detail while having a lot more environmental fog, higher NPC density and breakable objects. The environmental background details changed vary but generally the original has better crafted detailing such as vegetation, posters, pipes, etc. The little gameplay flourishes such as integrated DLC don't matter as much as the loss in atmosphere with the less dark image tone to me.
Another Deus Ex Human Revolution-style less good than the original definitive edition then sadly.
