Can someone explain the No Save thing?
I see some user reviews talking about "no save option" - can someone tell me what the save system, options, etc, are like? Thanks!

Hi Thor,

Our game saves automatically, meaning: you cannot save manually and reload in case something goes wrong : )

Got it - if you don't want to save scum, the save system works, right?

Save system is totally fine imo

Most missions aren't that long to begin with and in my experience I only had problems when I did something wrong during the setup stage of missions. No save after setup would have helped me anyway. Those missions that start with shooting are most of the time quite easy to handle if you move into cover asap.

I thought saving was going to suck but it doesn't. Plus if you make a mistake in the mission itself you can just restart the mission.

Heya, some additional info needed. From what I've read it is possible to run into some unwinnable mission, which means having to start the whole game again, just because of bad luck. Is that true?
I don't care much about if i can save inside a single mission, but if I find this paticular mission is impossible to win, I want to have the freedom to do other missions first before trying the hard one. Is this possible or are you trapped inside a single mission?
Also, is there permadeath? Do people of your posse die for good, or do they recover?
Thank you!

What's weird is despite I have the game and started a campaign I can't answer your question, the core problem is save in the game is totally unclear.

Just made the error to spend all my momney without realize I couldn't mine anything and then would be stuck. Stupid error I admit it, but stupid rules.

So I can't load back at all, I should continue, sell some items and lost a lot of money in the process, and start the campaign with a huge penalty just because the dev was unable to learn me the basics.

I hate all this roguelike current trend since years, it spread games that haven't a gameplay that sustain heavy replay fail, replay fail, as roguelike can.

EDIT: Clicked more or less randomly various non mining actions until I got a campaign event giving gold, now I try regular backup of the campaign through archiving HardWest folder in Documents folder, crossing fingers it really backup the campaign.

There should be a option to save on the map (not so much needed for combat)

Noticed a weird detail (already quoted by Motetta post) if you start a combat and quit and load, the game restore at combat beginning not before you prepare for the combat, so a miss click can destroy a full scenario (there's no real campaign, just a series of scenario that get unlocked as you progress).

Save or not on scenario map, no forced save, that seems a fair idea and looks quite easy to implement. It would fix most problems and avoid the lack of clarity.

Thanks alot guys! I really hoped there was at least some saving at scenario map feature. Broken like this, its a no buy for me.
P.S.: I love roguelikes and play them for decades. This isn't one and doesn't benefit from partial mechanics thereof...

Game saves automatically when you exit to main menu. Isn't it "at least some saving" you're looking for?
