Sorry for the hard time with the game, we're working on a patch that aims to get that fixed, in the meantime, unfortunately, the only sure fire way to get through this issue is to complete the scenario in one sitting - few folks here already had this problem and they made it, so we'd like to ask you to try it out : )
In the meantime we'll get back to work, and will do our best to bring the fix to you guys asap
As some feedback, can you patch in an additional save slot? Just so one can have at least one back up in a case that they make a mistake or attempt something they aren't ready for.
Thanks for the quick response.
We're working on the first issue pretty hard here, however the save system is a conscious design decision, as the whole point of the game being difficult is to render each decision as final.
Naturally, you can always restart the scenario and make a different choice, because hey, it's a game, but we made our best to make it difficult and immersive - lack of save option/backup save slot is one of the hard choices we had to make in order to get closer to that goal - hopefully you can accept that as an explanation.
Best regards,
CFG
I really love it but now I’m right before the meteor scene. Of course I’m not that crazy to think I need to play a whole scenario in one go. Why should I?

Still, perhaps telling people about that issue in the game before they may run into it, could be nice ;)
Hi,
This issue is a pain for a pretty long time, and we recently figured out why it happens - now we're working on a patch that will address it, so please give us some time.
Also on a side note, we'd just like to mention that info about this issue has been in the sticky thread here:

We get it that not everybody looks it up, but we've been doing our best to keep you guys informed about various bugs that you may come across.
We hope you give us some time to get that guy fixed, and if you manage to successfuly fiddle with txt files we'd also be curious to hear about the results!
We've already responded to your e-mail - please see the answer there.
We definitely understand how tiresome this bug is - at this point, though, we can assure that once patch with fix for this problem is greenlighted for shipping, it will reach everyone in need. By that time we need to stick to workarounds already mentioned in community, the best bet being a playthrough of the scenario with research branches not maxed out at the time of reaching Laboratory.
