No luck.
This is my second run through the game.
Knocking three times doesn't work either.
I tried shocking the door and walked in and got no achievement.
I loaded the save and called Central to have her open the door, and it gave me that achievement immediately. No graphics changes.
I guess I could try uninstalling and reinstalling, haha.
Edit: Ok, I never changed graphics mode, but I just checked and I AM running it in Direct3D9. I've never had any other problems with achievements, and I know that it gave me the "Central opens the door" one as soon as I tried it, on these settings. But I'll try!
I started the Setup before playing the first time, but I didn't change anything. (Direct3D9 was the default though and changing it to DirectDraw 5 just now didn't help.)
38 other achievements unlocked just fine.
Third Playthrough btw, the first time I let Lao unlock the Door.
The second time Central opened it.

Hrmph!
By the way, absolutely great game. :)
I decided to continue my "commentary on" play-through and just loaded the same game I've been loading to try this. (It's my farthest save with commentary on.) I clicked the stunner on the door CONTROL PANEL this time. Exact same animation and dialogue, but this time I got the achievement.
That's the only thing I can think of that I did differently this time. I'm *almost* certain that previously I was clicking the stunner on the door itself. (Which would have him shock the control panel and gain entry, just the same.)
Edit: Nevermind, it DID work. But the achievement notification didn't pop-up in Game.
