The Rangers In The South

The Rangers In The South

Game is fun so far but have a few questions if anyone could help me out.
Before i go too deep into playing this game i'd love to know how the shrines work. If i say for example got 20 shrines on my current character and they all granted an additional 10 permanent hp for a total of 200 for additional characters does this stack?

By stack i mean if i got another 20 shrines on a 2nd character their health points already have the 200 extra from my main character plus an additional 200 from the 2nd ones shrine collection?

If this is the case you could definitely with time and effort make some incredibly tanky characters through playtime and dedication. Could anyone confirm or deny if this is how the permanent shrine buffs work or is there a cap etc?

Next i wanted to know if there is a shared stash? Say i have found a wand and a cape that i want to keep for a different character could i put it in the chest at main spawn town (i have seen the chest but not sure if its shared stash).

Does the developer plan on adding xp potions or an xp boost item for those players who have completed all content (i havent progressed far myself but curious to know if such thing exists).

Is there a level cap on items or rarity (currently my best is rare quality)? Could loot dropped by enemies scale to 100 and beyond and do the enemies in tougher areas scale with the player?

Lastly just wanted to say im loving the game so far! Will be putting more time into it in the near future :)

The Shrines you can only hit once ever. So 20 shrines for 200hp for all existing characters on that save forever.

The Stash saves items for all characters on that save file. You can transfer to the next character if you wish to save a piece of gear or potion.

I'm not sure what their plans are for on xp potions etc. I'm currently grinding levels on new characters for achievements and it takes about 30mins or so to get a character to max lvl of 20 using gear earned from previous runs.

Level cap on Items is 18 currently for end game gear and there is a rarity past legendary. 2 tiers above rare.. Enemies in later areas do not scale to your level. But if you have good gear you can maybe hold your own.
I've only seen one drop item that is restricted to area/levels so far. rarity seems like anything can drop anywhere. Chests seems to have better chances at rares+
I hope they increase the level cap on the characters and items. The game is blast. It seems very limiting to end it at 20 for character level and 18 for item levels. Also, would be cool to dual wield wands and a one handed sword. But, it seems wands are two handed (I cannot equip a shield with a wand - strange).

Only the first run is slow. You can finish the second run in about an hour. Once you've stacked up your stash with divine gear, it's all about the numbers. You can level up quickly in the dungeons.

Since it's a rougelite, at this point it doesn't make sense to raise the level cap, I'm sure you'd have to rebalancing skills or opponents. Maybe if the developer adds a new area to the game. XP potion is also unnecessary as you can reach lvl20 in 1 hour.

Here is a early screenshot from my 3rd run:

Thats impressive! I did watch a youtube playthrough which kind of spoiled the end game for me however if you beat the final boss repeatedly does the enemy/boss scale by 10% each time you complete?
So if you finished the game 10 times it could add 100% hp and damage to enemies? im not 100% sure what finishing the game added to a future playthrough but im sure it was along the lines of making enemies tougher on a new playthrough.

Yes, at this point you just have to repeat the game as long as you can. My first boss kill was around 100 atk dps and around 80 magic dmg. So with the build I linked I assume I can kill the boss 8-10 times easily (depends on the defense stats). After that it's just skill and numbers for a while. If you get stuck, start a new save. I mean in this state of the game. Looking forward to more content, if there is any. If not, that's it for the game. But ~20 hours for $4 is/was perfectly fine.

I think the game's progression should be modified. It doesn’t make sense to me to play up to a point where I stagnate, either because I didn’t find the necessary items or the right build.

I believe the level cap hinders this quite a bit. Even though enemies get stronger, generations should have a greater importance so that we become stronger as well. Perhaps for every generation that reaches level 20, the next one could gain +1 to the level cap.

This way, when trying to kill the boss and failing, the next generation should be more capable of defeating it—or maybe the one after that... who knows?

I don't know. I don't think every game should have hundreds of hours of play time. You play it for ~20 hours and then move on, like most single player games. Of course the developer has said he plans to add more content, there will be some. Anyway, it's just a hobby project, so it is what it is.

It'd be nice if I didn't just keep getting helmet/armor/2hand weapon/boots ONLY. Never seen a back piece, 1 handed weapon, wand, bow....
So you reach max level kill the boss and then you let yourself die to start over?? I'm confused. currently level 20 generation 1..

Yes. Every time If you kill the boss, your next run will be 10% harder. So it becomes harder every run. Currently this is the game loop. Also, you can upgrade your skills premanently
after every bosskill.
