In the catalog it looks like a Pipe Wrench.

Yes, that is one of the intended effects of the monkey wrench (as long as you have it equipped in one of your slots you still benefit from speed boost) which as you say, may have potential balance problems, but I'd like to see how it plays out, as its repair ability is hampered quite a bit which makes me think it won't be a shoo-in for the go-to repair tool in every case.

As far as the catalog bug goes, I'm fixing that right now and will be pushing out a stealth patch quite soon here. I'll also look into the two Phonograph bug, thanks for reporting!

I hope you read this;

The slow movement bug makes the monkey wrench almost benefitless.
You are no faster with monkey wrench when bugged.

If you are, it doesn't seem like it.

You are slightly faster on sub.
But no difference in caves, you still move like a snail.

Good to know! Hadn't got an opportunity to see if the bug affected a monkey wrench user yet, so it sounds like we gotta bump that up on our priority list. Thanks for the report!

The Monkey Wrench seems a bit OP IMO. Because the other repair items have pros and cons whether that be attack or repair speed. Where as this just speeds up making the Wrench useless once you unlock it especially as it only costs 1000 gold. Just my thoughts.

Plus it has the range of a pipe wrench, the only downside with the monkey wrench is;
You occassionally jump over the hole and miss.

But that is arguably insignificant compared to the cons of the other repair items. And the jump in general makes caves easier to avoid enemies.

I agree, but I have already bought it so it won't affect me or the others who own it.

I think they should make the speed and jump benefit non existent if you don't actually have it in your hand.

See how that goes for a bit. I thought for sure that was a bug.

I wouldn't change it until the slow movement bug is fixed though. Once your slow the monkey wrench makes almost no difference.

I remember I suggested a large hammer one of the streams that would decrease walking speed but would fix holes and dents quickly. But there would be the issue where players would walk with the other item and fix with the hammer. Not sure if it will be in the game though.

Fair suggestions! We'll look into trying out the active-only granting the buffs option and the long overdue fix for speed bugs in the near future.
