lost all ranks and items
SO i got my rank back and everything works fine for me again.
at my point the problem was the steam cloud service.

In my case, I used to back up that folder, but one day I accidentally replaced it with my old backup, making me lose all that day's progress, especially when I unlocked all the remaining relics that day. It took me many days to unlock them again.
I think for your case, you will need to start over if you do not have a backup of your C drive.
