Crew Sims - Games Like WNTGD

As most of you are well aware, We Need To Go Deeper is by no means the only game out there that utilizes a "ship crew" style of co-op where multiple players are all working together to operate a larger piece of equipment/machinery. Some notable examples include Guns of Icarus, Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime, Artemis Spaceship Bridge Simulator, Sea of Thieves, etc.

Anyway! There's no doubt that folks who like these games would also be interested in We Need To Go Deeper, and vice versa! However, Steam's suggestion algorithms don't see these similarities and operates only on "tags" that each game is given. And since there's no tag to identify these types of games, I say we make one so that the communities of these other games and the Deeper community can start intermingling a little more, and to help people discover more games like this!

So here's my pitch for what we should call this tag - "crew sim" - it's short, simple, and descriptive, and can be applied to the vast majority of this up-and-coming genre. So what do ya say? Wanna help name the genre?

If so, go and find any game you think is deserving of this tag and make a custom tag for it called "crew sim"! If enough people do it, eventually Steam will recognize the tag and make it public, which means it will be included in the suggestion algorithms!

Our YouTube channel has been playing and recording We Need to Go Deeper and we are also hoping to record games such as Guns of Icarus and/or Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime; when we do so we will be sure to make comparisons between those games and We Need to Go Deeper. The three gamers who make up our channel have always felt that such games are hilariously fun to play, especially since they are gigantic entropy magnets, and we're happy to do what we can to help. I am curious as to why you went with "Sim" instead of "Simulator" but then that is just my obsessive tendencies speaking >.>

I'll add "Crew Sim" to the tags on our existing We Need to Go Deeper video, and will be sure to include it on the second video that Mike is editing up as we speak.

Barotrauma is a really good game, and it's free. Anyone that likes We Need to go Deeper should play Barotrauma, and visa versa.

Last time I said that, I got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on so badly. This is a dangerous place for barotrauma lovers.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Just added Airmen and Iron Armada to the list. And definitely feel free to discuss Crew Sims of all kinds here! If there's any place to discuss related games in these forums, this thread would certainly be a fair place for such a discussion. The goal here is to get all these kinds of games in one place so we can more efficiently tag Crew Sims and help spread the genre name to help Steam's algorithms make it more likely these different communities can find eachother organically!
