4. I do agree that the volcanic depth needs more enemy types. I haven't gotten past it yet, because the few times I tried, too many of the giant tortoises spawn, and push us into the walls or the floor, and we can't shoot at it's weak spot for a while, and by the time we finally kill one, 3 more have spawned. Too many of these huge tortoises, and not enough other enemy types. I do love the monkeys spawning inside the sub.
7. That's a great idea, giving the walls a spongy feel. That'd be real fun to play with.
1. Read a post, called tutorial, which I'll post. That, could serve, as your "first biome"
4. Agreed. Even though, throughout the 9 runs that I've been able to go to the lava biome, I've only met one tortoise. (;-;)
7. Thanks
Nate does hit on a good point here (And one of the biggest reasons atlantic is made common, and in future, likely the GUARANTEED first biome for first-timers) in that atlantic, in both theme and mechanics, is the easiest for new players to learn the game through. While a tutorial will help make that less necessary, tutorials can't (And don't) do all the heavy lifting of learning on their own, and the atlantic area is meant to help that along, while the alternate biomes are there to try and mix things up for more experienced players.
Thanks for the feedback as always! If anyone else reads this thread, be sure to leave your own list as well if you have time, to get as many perspectives as possible on this.
Prehistoic waters - I like the concept but this one is the most boring to me. You don't need lights and can speed past everything. If you are speeding past everything you dont need to shoot and hardly repair. The driver is basically the only one doing anything.
Atlantic waters - It might not look as cool as the other biomes but those swordfish never make for a dull moment. Everyone plays a role here as your just starting with no upgrades.
Frozen waters - This one is cool for a different reason, not just because its cold. You can't just fly through it as ice will often block you. The engineer can play a big role here. Especially on the 2nd cycle when the devourer chases you. Hypothermia should have more of an effect.
Cursed waters - Awesome biome! Could be a little darker and mess with the lights inside.
Volcanic waters - Awesome biome! Can be challenging as it should be seeing how youv'e made it through the others and most likely have upgrades.
Dark depths - Awesome biome! Just needs eels
Infected depths - Awesome biome! Just needs eels
Agreed with dark and infected depths, agreed with volcanic waters, gasped in amazement when you listed your cursed waters opinion (love the darkness), agree with the hypothermia, partially agree with the atlantic waters, and partially agree with the prehistoric waters.
Edit: It seems weird to be going down deeper through the darkness to pop out in prehistoric and its real bright. Wheres the light coming from?
Edit: Careful if you crank the volume up, killing the megalodon reveals a teleporter that will make your ears bleed.
