Really dude.
U where completely off topic. That channel isn't for discussing palworld.
If it was in the off topic channel in that discord server. It more than likely was due to how u where approaching the discussion.
Iv seen others talk about this in off topic and not get banned.
U knkw exactly why u got banned and where probably even warned about it. And didn't listen. That's all on u.
Follow the rules of said discord servers and u won't get banned not hard
*instantly mutes OP*
You get a bump so everyone gets a chance to do the same and potentially avoid a lot of annoying posts.
And yes I see the hypocrisy of me saying this.
It's about "patents" for three game mechanics in PalWorld that Nintendo claims it owns. Beast/Summon Mounting, Capture Units {Aka Pokeball}, and one other one that is a bit more ambiguious which is "Partner Following". The patents were filed sometime early August and it's also a move against PocketPair itself.
The real threat behind this is not what will happen to PalWorld if it succeeds; but gaming as a whole since a lot of games copy or mimic others as they are influenced. An example is the Pillar/Steeple Climb from Assassins Creed games to reveal map terrain being used in the latest Zelda Wild & Tear games. It has a lot of interesting implications for future lawsuits against indie developers and major ones.
Personally, it's Nintendo being petty. I love certain franchises of Nintendo but this is a can of worms that once opened will leave a lot of people on scorched earth creative wise. We will see a drastic drop in game development as it becomes a post-creation gold-rush to own the "patent" of game mechanics both serious and silly. Indie development won't halt but will dramatically slow down as a result.
