I'm using a mod that lets me have several texture sets at once, so I can nerd out selling Pokemon, Digimon, YGO, Dragon Ball, MTG and Hololive cards. Which, yes, means there's already modded texture packs of all of these (and more.)
Also, my hands can hold 9999 cards, everyone bathes before showing up at the store, prices get automatically updated without having to suffer any fools, and I can order new stuff just by interacting with the product's labels on shelves.
So they can't even follow the simple instructions for BepInEx.
Now, I'll admit some games' modding can get super confusing, but this is one of the many that are super simple to mod.
Steam Workshop exists for ease of access. Also makes it easier for those who create mods. Having all your mods for all your games collected in the same client you use to launch your games is just practical, it's a no brainer. Same with having all your mod projects also gathered in one spot.
Having to use Nexus is not hard, it's just unnecessary extra steps and another client to use and register on, it's the same thing with having to log into third party launchers to start a game on Steam. It belongs in an outdated era. No one needs that bloat and it makes zero sense to champion it as far as games on Steam is concerned.
Games on Steam that claims to be mod friendly should support Steam Workshop integration, end of story. If you want to take those extra steps to Nexus to get your mods, then fine, but don't try and enforce it upon others when there are legitimately better options that can be made available. It doesn't make you superior, it just makes you an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
which mod?
The answer was no. So I sadly doubt they will. Which would have made this more fun idea, plus the thought of them adding a TCG 3D dueling system. (like yu-gi-oh show and manga) And we would have to pick someone to be our Ace for some world tournament.
Strange thing to ask, when the real answer is this is the very first game that this dev studio has ever made. They can easily add or not add workshop feature.
Easily depends on what they need to do to implement it. The main reason that Nexus and such still exist is because there is no extra work needed on the devs end. It all comes down to money and time. This dev likely really wants to save on both due to this being the first game from them. If it were to be put in, it would likely be after full release.
