Stock from shelves instead of floor

Is there a way to set them to grab the stock that I have in the shelves instead of the stock I'm attempting to work with on my workbench? I hate opening packs and then my box disappears just to be left on the floor in front of the shelves. I have boxes of packs in the back for them to stock, they need to just leave mine alone :( and I don't want to buy a huge personal shelf to unload onto just so I can grab from there to work with. That's an extra step I'd rather not have to take.

Stock the packs you want to open on your personal shelf instead. The workers will leave it alone.

if you dont want to use a personal shelf, then your only option is to open the packs after 9pm. i agree with you they should first take from storage and only from street or ground when the storage is empty...but for other reosons^^

Thank you for your response! However I mentioned in my original post that I'd prefer not to have to take this additional step if possible! I do already know that that would be a method to do it, but not only is it an extra step, it's extra room taken up!

yah... That's true. i usually try to open while they're stocking during the morning or while doing almost nothing else during the day lol. But I def could do most of it during night :( lol
