What is the point in them? do they attract more customers or something?

maybe its made so you put your rare cards there so you dont sell them accidently? because most of time as soon as you put the card down those hellhound costumers someway right behind you and take your card straight away lol and there is no way to get it back lol. so i use the display shelves as a protection tool

It is simply for displaying your collection.
You are free to stuff anything in there from the really rare to the crappy.
Unlike a shelf for sale, it is really a decoration and customers will not take your collection.
If you want to enjoy displaying your valuable cards, or cards with patterns you like, you should buy a display shelf.
When you are trying to arrange single cards on a shelf for sale, it will help prevent you from misplacing your favorite card and having it sold to a customer.

Seems like a bit of a waste of space. I was hoping it would be something that attracted more customers / up their money amount since you are taking up space for display sake.

Probably will do something in the future. Makes sense it would increase vistors and/or spending.

I'm hoping that eventually, things in these cases will allow customers to negotiate prices with you when they see them in the case. Like they stand there with an exclamation above their head or something, you go up to them, and they say "I offer you $x,xxx.xx for this card" and then you can say, yes, no, or tell them how much you want for it.
