i'm at a stage now where it's time to upgrade, can you sell the older models or just have to pack them away?

yes, press Q, press C to box it, press C to selll it get 50% of price back.

they are bigger and take up 4 times as much space, and don't overlap shelf boundaries, so they are rather cumbersome to place. I sold them and went back to the basic ones.

Yep - no upgrade at all at this point sadly. Still didn't take care of anyone solo. So went back to two of the original myself. Seems the only 'benefit' is holding 4 canisters instead of 2, so needs to be restocked less often. But that really isn't a benefit for the size and awkwardness and price.

idk i seem to have to place 2 perfectly in the door for them to both hit and fully "destink" them

The second tier of machine will knock out smells in one blast, but if two BO people come in at the same time, it will only hit one of them. It's still the most effective machine (unless the fat one got patched to be better when I wasn't looking).

It's why my setup is working a register in line of sight to the door and the sprayer with a personal shelf full of cans next to me. That way if the machine misses someone I can instantly grab a can and deal with the problem. Happens maybe once or twice a day at most.
