If you use auto or click like bananas, there will be a hang in the animation which cause what you describe because the speed of animation creeps faster than the auto or fast click until the animation beats the line of code before action.
Used auto and/or fast clicked with my son, and happened 4 times in 28 pack openings.
Opened 1003 packs over the past hours, and not one issue.
Yeah thats basically been my solution aswell (limited clicking per pack) but, with auto still on. I click to open, then click to close, repeat, with periodic saving between of course lol
Auto next card pack don't affect anything, just don't click too fast or hold click.
The only way I found is to open pack without rendering my shop (ie sidewalk while looking away or the ground) or opening before or after opening my shop
just open packs outside as look away from your store, to not render everything there. Since when you are in the store or looking at the store with many customers while opening packs, it seems to cause desync in input causing the bug.
Or you can open just fine before opening and after 9 pm when there are less amount of things going on. Which I usually do since, trading cards with customers is much much easier to get new cards.
It can happen later in the game (like lv 50+) when a lot of customer moves around, and you don't have a good pc. Regardless if you have mods or not.
For me, I play vanilla. But since my pc isn't great... Looking or being at the store, there is a noticeable fps drop and input desync like changing label prices. So it's pretty much the reason why this bug to happens for me when I open packs in those conditions.
But, if you play mods to change speed opening or more cards to hold. That might be the issue, since holding more cards means you also render them all... And you'd want to make sure to have better pc to handle that or try to render the store/number of cards less.
