For those on Linux with a freezing issue, Proton 8.0-5 seems to run the game perfectly.

I've been playing on Proton 9.0-3, and Experimental, and I'd get ton's of freezing on Experimental, and occasional freezing on 9. I decided to try an older version 8.0-5, and the game has run flawlessly ever since I switched.

In 9.0-3 if I alt tabbed out of the game the game would freeze as seen as it regained focus. It would also randomly freeze, but for some reason run normally when not the window in focus? The only way to play was to force quit and re-launch the game. On 8.0-5 I have not had a single freeze yet. And I can safely alt-tab if I want, or need to.

So if you're having trouble with the game running or freezing, go to game properties, compatibility, and force use of proton 8.0-5.
