That's just the way I play is all.
Even worse is the fact that customers will role by chance which shelf or table slot they will buy from, and when your shop consists of few shelves but also a mostly empty single cards table, chances are very high that they will just leave again without buying anything after shaking their head in disappointment in front of the empty card stand.
Really? Cause I got 6 tables running quickly and while the initiation fee for higher level tournaments is an issue on some days, I usually make as much as I sell just from games thanks to it. I've had them like that for a few levels and they make about 2-3k a day.
I sell a bunch of things, but I stock MORE of the things that net the most profit. I have an entire set of 3 double-sided shelves that are full of my latest profit item, but the rest of the store is stocked somewhat normally.
The fully stocked shop earns me about 8k profit per day. Both set ups didn't have tables and they also didn't have the singles on sale either. Market price + 10% rounded is my sales price on both set ups.
Once I get the last achievement i am missing for the 2500 cards I am going to take a break from the game to let it cook a bit more.
So days 1 through 60 or so I did the "stock and sell everything" to make money. Did ok but was a lot of work. Game Tables, Boosters, Boxes, as many unlockables on the shelf I could afford.
Day 60 or so I got rid of all my single packs and game tables and just stocked Boxes and expensive figurines and board games. I made way more money. Focused on the Redish super expensive pre made deck, forgot what it is, Legendary. Think it's the first item on the last row on the Card buy Tab. About $440.00 a box of 18. Price on it fluctuates quite a bit so I would invest all I had when it was at $443.00 (18pk) and sell for about $2 cheaper than market value. Made loads more cash mainly because it would generally inflate to about $450-$460 a day. Buy as many as I could at $443 and make big money.
Day 70 or so, got rid of everything that didn't turn a profit of over $15-$20. Reinvested all the cash into the Legendary (Red) Pre-Made Decks.
The thing I noticed was, one day, even though the Pre-Made pack Market Value ($42.00 PK) was at it's normal Low, I went ahead and jacked the price to $50 per Pack. It still sold more than enough to make up for the decreased sales and then some.
So here on Day 80 something, I have about 30 Cases of 18 Legendary Pre-Made Packs along with about 70% of my store shelves fully stocked with the Pre-Made Decks and just stand there, do nothing. Cashier does all the work. Make 15k-20k a day profit no matter what the market value is.
Tip: Make your prices divisible by 50 cents at minimum. No matter what you sell. The faster you or your employee can cash someone out the door, the faster someone else shows up to buy your stuff.
Yes I know but from my experience, the increase in price makes up for the loss in sales plus a little extra. This rule would be more true if you had many many different SKUs to sell, but when your limited in items you still end up outselling any loss. In my experience.
I should clarify, just the Pre-Made Legendary decks are over priced, everything else is still below Market Value. So 70% of my sellables, Legendary decks, are over priced, 30% are about $1-2$ below market value. Less sales in Legendary decks but when they do sell, they make up for the lost sales. I still sell a lot of Legendary Decks when the price is high but I'm also not having to re purchase as often or stock as often. I make about 20% more daily profit doing this compared to keeping the Decks at market or below.
Maybe the final version of the game will be fine tuned to reflect reality and I may not be able to continue this method of profit. I didn't develop the game, I just play it and it just works.
