Make this entire game automated so we're not even playing a video game.
That's what the discussions look like.
This game is a lot of casual fun. But asking to automate every single thing in it is a joke. Go play on your phone if you want a fake video game. This thing is actually fun.

We are asking for automation in the extreme late game to get those final dumb achievements that take another 200 hours to get after you already feel you are done with the store.

Whats wrong with adding automation? If you dont want to automate then you dont have to use it.
Sithy 21 OCT 2024 a las 19:01
Some of the automation people are wanting are also just things you would think would be automated already but aren't. Such as a motion sensor light or something to turn the shop light on when it gets dark. Or heck are simple bits of automation that you see at stores but aren't currently in the game like self check out kiosks.

Hire V. Fast workers = Self Checkout.

A lot of this can be automated with the workers. Else, there'd be no game for things like "auto pack opening" and what not.

That's crazy that people want auto lights, self checkouts ect ect. The only thing to do in the game is pressing the light button once a day, being a cashier if you want to if not fast and very fast worker do all of that for you, stocking the shelves where workers can also do that job for you and ordering. And people want all of that to be automated ?!

If you just wanna open packs, theres free websites thats let you open fake packs, cs go cases ect ect ect, you dont need this game for that.

you can have all these things they already exist as mods lol

Might as well watch someone else play if you want everything automated for you

Lotta folks missing the point, and failing to understand what makes a game great.

Options aren't a bad thing. If you don't wanna automate, don't do it. Adding options to automate won't ruin the experience for anyone.
It wastes dev time on crap like this. I'm sorry but this genre is called a simulator and automation for everything just ruins the point of it.

Only automation mod I use is for opening 1024 card packs in one sitting with no interruptions.

I'd like there to be more things late game, 60+. Running the business is the game, but it does get monotonous after awhile.

Self checks - Have you actually thought this through? Customers will probably check themselves at a slow speed, leading to lines. This task is already automated through employees. So the point would be to eliminate the employee cost (This is the point of Self check IRL) but you'd need more of them to prevent long lines. I think that's a fair balance.

Lights - This only effects the player. Just open your card packs in the dark.

Auto ordering - This is about the only thing I really do most days. But I guess it could be automated late in the game?

Auto pricing - You're only constantly changing prices to get the most sales, if you set prices right to start with it's not going to matter that much.

Well that's the problem with gamers. They wanna have immediate solutions to game mechanics they don't like, without thinking about the consequences. Some wanted features are good, other's destroy the whole purpose of the game itself. Automating as an option is not really an option. The path of lowest resistance is a natural behavior.
If an conveniant "option" exist, then the majority will use it.

Who would've thought that people bought a shop sim expecting to own the shop and employ people instead of having to do everything themselves?
It's crazy.
Oblivion 22 OCT 2024 a las 16:27
many people forget /havnt gotten to "endgame" to realize the game is already automated other than a few clicks every few days.
BoxingBud 22 OCT 2024 a las 17:25
I think making every element of automation cost something is not a bad deal. I didn't like checking customers out, so I automated that, I make less money but I get to do the stuff I like doing like stocking and cracking open packs. Automation is fine, make it cost.
Metal Izanagi 22 OCT 2024 a las 17:56
It's weird seeing people so opposed to automation. It's not like you'd be forced to use it if the devs added it. Let people play how they want, damn.
