Lets play with the thought you have a shelf missing 45 card packs, and there is 9 used boxes for your employee to fill it up with. First box contains 1 card pack, 2nd contains 2 packs, 3rd contains 3 packs.. and so on, you get the idea.
This would mean he would have to run back and forth 9 times before that shelf is filled, and take an absurd amount of time.
If anything, I would like to have them coded to only fill up shelves with the priority on taking a box (if there is one) with enough items in it to actually fill the shelf to 100%, just to not have them running back and forth to the storage shelf wasting time.
the street works just fine for me, and i don't have this problem, but then i only order stock when the shelf is empty.
Excellent point. Definitely on board with priority of filling shelves. That would probably solve many issues. Box consolidation is something I can do myself after closing time. Doesn't take that much time, honestly, and I'd rather have my employees focused on getting product on the shelves.
