Problems with trades
As someone who has owned a card shop I have a few issues with the trade in system (though most people who have simply BEEN to a card shop will likely have noticed the same issues). So far every person looking to sell me a card has wanted more than market price with no exceptions. Only two of them have accepted my offers and those were both at or above market price (cards that were rare and I wanted for my binder). Most people who go to card shops know that you're getting 50% cash 75% trade AT BEST.

It's also pretty unrealistic that everyone want's to sell one card or one for one trade. People selling off whole collections or trading one expensive cards for several cheaper cards/several cheaper cards for one more expensive cards is faaaar more common.

Sadly this update has been pretty immersion breaking for the reasons above and beyond that it makes buying from customers basically pointless unless they have a card you need for your binder as there is zero money to be made paying retail to sell for 10% above after factoring in labor and opportunity cost.

I always follow up criticism with a compliment so I have to say I love the new auto-price job. Stuck my worst employee on it and it saves a bit of a headache for sure.

I don't really get it either. I'm having people ask for literally double market value. 324 asking price on a 170 card. And would only take 300.

yep, at this point I have just begun ignoring the people with trades or sales now, because it is almost never worth it, as they have never offered me a card for below market price, other than once which the card was only worth under a dollar.

As long as they offer me a new card i'll happily pay them triple market value no questions asked.

It would make sense if like 1/20 customers was like this but EVERY customer wants more than retail.

Sure as I said I paid over retail on a few but the purpose of a card shop is to make money. It's pretty immersion breaking to HAVE to pay over retail for whatever they have if you want to get it. Plus it's not often they actually bring a new card, it's mostly $3 slop in my experience.

Buying cards at market price would be completely game breaking. Makes perfect sense for them to be minimum 50% above market value.

i think the point of trading is to get cards you need, not to try and resell them for a profit. If you're a collector you might be willing to overpay imo

What you get offered is based on your shop level.

People i have been watching are over level 100 and it's common to get ex, gold, foils. sometimes it will be a full art foil or ghost.

I honestly want them to remove this feature, or allow us to opt out of it via settings or store preferences. This has killed the mood of the game for me.

How does that make any sense? You can't make a profit paying over retail. The whole point of a store is to make profit.

They should have allowed us to opt out of it via a setting or something then. I have no interest in collecting all the cards, except the ones I open myself. Having someone come up to the counter and stare at you every 1-2 minutes is ridiculously annoying.

Good for them, I'm level 80 and I've seen a couple decent cards like that but it's mostly trash.

The game is called TCG Card Shop Simulator not TCG Collector Simulator. I like the collecting aspect too but it's not the main thing the game is about.

The feature is there to help you complete your card collection. Not to make a profit from. No wonder your having issues with the feature.
