Can we get a Steam Workshop, please?
I'd be nice if we could have some Pokemon Cards, or Magic the Gathering or maybe some.. others?

I'm using Pokemon, Digimon, YuGiOh, Naruto, Dragon Ball and Hololive cards right now, so no, the workshop isn't really needed for modding.

Edit: Yes, "and." A mod that allows for multiple sets of card textures already exists, along with one that gives at least three more "expansions" to fool around with.

it would be amazing for workshop support as it would make mods easier to get for the average user as i would wager only 60% or so of players are willing to use outside mod services.
I personally like the original pokemon card mod, makes it feel real lol

Magic the Gathering

Stealing intellectual property from a greedy company running its own electronic card game on Steam? What could go wrong?

they're using a separate mod hosting website called nexus mods and installing the mods manually with the instructions given with each mod by the mod devs - lots of other ways exist to mod games without using steam workshop as well, the workshop is just very user friendly and easier to understand for people with less modding experience

I would also love Steam Workshop.
Really don't like Nexus Mods, especially because your download speed gets capped

It's barely anything dude. You're not downloading like, a gig of data. I generally get all my mods less than 5 seconds.

if you pay for nexus mods premium service then yeah sure
otherwise it gets capped to... i think it was 2 megabytes a second? absolutely workable and not problematic at all, but also far from "download in less than 5 seconds" on quite a few mods hosted on their website

The mods for this game are really lightweight, you will really not be waiting around for hours for mods to download so Nexus mods works just fine really. We're not installing a whole new map for Skyrim here.
It's clear Steam Workshop would be more convenient but also, the dev doesn't endorse mods, it's bound to get you in trouble since people mod stuff like pokemon into this and we all know Nintendo, it's better to wash your hands off clean from this.

Either way Vortex installer from Nexus mods makes it just as simple, even if you have to have a separate app for modding.

I'm not a game dev, but I imagine people adding their own code/assets into a game that's still early in development makes it harder for the dev to figure out what bug reports are native to the game and which ones are because of mods.

I don't pay and still get my downloads in a few seconds. I dono what you've been downloading.
