Game randomly crashes
For no reason at all the game keeps crashing. No thing is causing the crash it just randomly crashes.

windows 11 64 bit,
intel core i7 13700KF processor (8x 3.40GHz + 8X 2.50GHz/30 MB L3 Cache),
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - 8GB GDDR6,
16GB DDR4-3600 - Corsair Vengeance
screen resolution is windowed 1600x900 so i can do other things while playing

Update:
The game is now just constantly crashing at random times. Nothing triggers it specifically. Its not even at the same time its complete random. Currently on day 71

It amazes me how few people actually do the most bare minimum of troubleshooting. Just saying "keeps crashing" or "doesn't load" doesn't help without context or attempted fixes.

1) Get rid of any mods (and I mean a deep scrubbing of those files/folders, leave no trace) and then verify local files, and don't attempt to load a modded save.
2) If that doesn't work (or you don't have mods) then uninstall and reinstall the game.
3) If you still have issues, update you OS/drives/etc.
4) If you still have issues after the above, then you can report your issues using as much detail as possible (what happened, exact steps reproducing, error logs, etc).

I'd give more if there was more. Don't gotta be a smart ass. Most people work and play games in free time and aren't looking to troubleshoot a small leisure game.

No mods installed
Already reinstalled
Drivers are up to date
That's the thing. There is no rhyme or reason. Usually only happens once a day, but it has happened every single day once. Will just be normally playing sometimes even idling and game just crashes. I don't have a option for better troubleshooting or to know what causes it. Just randomly happens now since the last update. I am around day 60, haven't noticed a certain time that it happens every time its just random. Not opening any menus or buying anything or doing anything special. It quite literally just happens

He's not being a smart ass. As a Dev I can say that lacking information and system specs (OS, CPU GPU, RAM, Screen resolution - this is #4A to the list above) is a waste of a post in terms of getting a crash bug resolved. Your description above, while not a step by step repeatable crash, still provides useful information. Add in your specs and now the developer has a shot at troubleshooting the issue. More is better in these cases.

Like i said crash is random about once a day and usually doesn't do it twice, but has happened twice b4. Ill see if it happens at a specific time of day in game since its happening so often. Its when im tabbed into the game as well not when im tabbed out.

you could also just not be overly hostile about it and actually be reasonable and patient when people are having difficulties with technology
don't just assume outright that people haven't done any troubleshooting. just give them the troubleshooting steps with no hostility - computers are hard, and less knowledgeable people shouldn't have to deal with needless insults for 0 reason on top of their stuff not working for unknown reasons.

Hey friend, ive scrolled through this thread and noticed people seem to have a certain stance on this question. First of all i like to start with saying both camps got a point. As a developer myself its a huge help if at the very least one could mention steps taken or specs of the device it crashes on.

However, you mentioned it started in the latest update to the game. This reminds me of an issue ive had playing games early in the games release and developing programs myself. Try to mention in the bug report forum that this is happening in the most recent update and your pc specs as to me it seems to be something in the latest update messing with one or a few processes on your pc.

I ask you to tell the devs in a proper bug report instead of the forums because this way odds are best for it to be fixed next update.

Some games i used to play on ultra settings just somehow started chugging like hell on the lowest settings. A few updates later it was fixed.

To clarify, this seems to be an optimizational issue moreso than a "your pc issue"

Again, all you could probably do is report it and wait for an update that fixes it. And dont take this the wrong way and its not directed towards you in particular but people should have nore patience with the devs, its friday at the time of this report and its common practice to not push an update on a friday as there is no way to fix it over the weekend (this is due to the thing that generally no one works office jobs on weekends)

Anywayz i hope it gets fixed for ya soon

haven't crashed a single time.. i doubt its the game, i suspect is your device.
mjblink Nov 2, 2024 @ 3:47am
it could be that the multitasking part is to blame. i have had huge issues with games not running well if i was just playing a video on a second screen. the game may also not like being in windowed mode. does it have the same issues in fullscreen? could just be win11. i am on win10 64 bit, Ryzen 5 5600X, 3060Ti 8gb, 32gb RAM and I have not crashed yet. i play fullscreen and have a youtube video on a second monitor most of the time.
