Did the devs say why they changed their mind about a steam version?

There used to be a lot of requests to have KS added to steam but it always seemed to be out of the question for a few reasons, what made them change their mind now all of a sudden? It's not even some sort of anniversary hd rerelease or something

IDK, it may be because of the success of Class of '09 and I Wani hug that gator + Snoot game (Snoot has stollen assets so this one wont be on steam I guess lol)
Since it's all more or less 4chan fuelled

We can see there's a market for that kind of game here (even if Katawa Shoujo is free, IDK). Maybe they're planning a remake / sequel ? or just looking if people are playing it ?

There have been several remasters for this game at least Linux versions.

I really hope this is something new, and not just basically a modern Remaster because I hear the old engine is pretty bad with modern systems.
