The russian translation easter egg?

In the mechanical...bug...rock place. There is the case with lights and switches on them.

Item: Around the back of the case is a phrase in russian.

Easter Egg?: It translates to "Engage in Meaninlesspointless case"
Is that the correct translation? I think it's an easter egg to say the box is meaningless and doesn't do anything?? :D

Yeah pretty much. It's completely irrelevant to completing the game. There are some achievements attached to it and some easter eggs for backers.

Can you give a hint to solving it? I spent a lot of time flipping the switches and pushing buttons, only to find out later that it doesn't help the ladder come down and is not important.

well, you have to have the stairs down first, and there's a rather obvious note somewhere in the world.

I typed the long number into the machine but it didn't do anything. Also it was in the air with the ladder down. If I put the ladder down, it's a long way around to get to it. Someone somewhere said it was in connection to the IT Crowd.

What do you mean? If you put the ladder down you can walk up and down the ladder. Make sure you hit the enter button afterwards. The IT Crowd does have a number that you can enter, but that's one of many possible numbers for a second easter egg, but you have to use the number you find in world first.

I can't figure out which one is the enter button. I've pushed them all.

Going off memory but I think it's the button after the 0, it should look like a bent arrow. (Pretty much a universal keypad symbol for enter afaik).

Yeah, stupid me. I was looking all over the machine except the keypad. Duh. I tried the number and entered it and the machine fell down since the ladder was down and the machine in the air. So maybe that number must be one way to let the ladder down. (I misspoke earlier when I said "put the ladder down". I meant to say put the ladder up. Then it's a long way around to get to the machine again.) I remember the number in IT Crowd, but I didn't think it was long enough. It's amazing that it really is that long. I put it in, but I didn't see the slide in the projector. I'll have to try that again.
