Endings - Did anyone try this? (spoilers)
I realize there are basically 2 endings in the game (3, with the untimely death ending), but there one ending no one seems to have mentioned or tested (so far?)

I'm certain there's a way to get all the small "warp bubbles" back to their respective worlds (I started doing it, having completed 2 of them, but had two other worlds to sort out remaining). Has anyone tried this, and did it change the ending? I don't want to go through all that, really, lol. I had done most of them, but messed up at one point and would have had to warp a few back temporarily to fix one or two that were left, and didn't want to go through all that back-forth again (too many, and long load times).

I'm curious if someone tried this. Theoretically, I think that the ending warping the "big bubbles" would possibly sort out the small ones as well automatically (maybe?), but I'd be curious to see if they did something for people who had the patience to sort out all the small ones first, maybe an alternate ending or something. If not, it's a shame, as the time and effort to sort them all out needs some kinda prize ^.^ Great game though, and so worth the purchase.

I don't know if I'll go back to do them. I love the game and all, but too much warping back and forth for me to attempt it. I'm hoping someone else did do it :)

So, anyone?

I recall hearing that somebody tried it- nothing happened.

There's no storyline reason anything would, either.

WIthout digging into the game files, we're pretty sure there's just the 3 endings. Getting all the spheres correct is moot though, as it's impossible. There is no way to get the spheres between Kaptar and Maray swapped properly.

Yeah, I tried it two ways. One was to put all the swappers back the way they were at the beginning of the game. The other is to put the swappers back the way they look like they should go, i.e. that if one side of the the swapper area has jungle around it it should be swapped so that that side was in its jungle world. Neither system seemed to make any difference to the ending, though it's possible that I missed one of the swappers and it ended up the wrong way around.

Thanks all for sharing.

It just seems a bit of a shame to miss that opportunity to have a method to swap them all back to have a side-puzzle / ending. Regardless, I really enjoyed the game, I just love the Cyan worlds. The sounds and scenery take you out to the outter rims of the imagination, and I just love that.

(EDIT - I still wonder if there's something hidden amongst all that. I just found out about an easter egg with the "useless machine" hanging on the beam of the stairs in the world with all the gears, so I assume there's still lots of other little tidbits to be discovered in time)

Well, that is *the* easter egg. There's a lot of subtle and not-so-subtle references to the Cyan Team and their other games, but no other eggs as far as we know. Like most of their games, the end is only affected by a last minute decision. It's not really been their style to add endings based on obscure things you've done previously.

I got that easter egg first try. When I read the name of the achievement, I felt so vindicated haha

some sorta spoilers regarding Final Decision and Endgame ... In reading bits about the "good" ending, i kinda got the impression that "Trees Know Best," because in the good ending the trees are free from Cecil's control and port everyone to some utopia somewhere, so I guess i'm asking if the final position of the orbs would even matter, when the Trees port out?

regarding the russian easter egg machine, rumor has it that there are far more 20-digit codes ...

Possble spoilers here, but in response to Sirrus6B:

If you listen to the good ending, you'll see that CW says something about Farley being right. I'm not sure what he's refering to (I'd have to read all the notes everywhere again), but it might be something similar to what you're saying.

Also, there's still lots of stuff not accounted for, like you said, the machine, but also, I find some other clues elsewhere that might means something, yet wasn't used in-game - for example, on one of the toys in the small room you warp to, there's a symbol that shows 2E, but in a square shape, kinda like they are two codes for the villein machine (the 9-dot thing). I haven't tried it anywhere, but I wonder if that has meaning somewhere.

I wish they had more stuff to read throughout the game that gives more back story, I feel there isn't quite enough to fill the gaps.

I think I'm gonna try the game again in a couple months (wait for all the important patches in case it changes story, etc) to get a better understanding of the story, at any rate. :)

It's very much what they're thinking, yeah.

Remember one of the very first lines in the game? "It saved us"?

The notes (and the tape recorder in the house) bring up this viewpoint a few times- that the trees are a specifically benevolent force.

Farley's book in her cavevault.
