its so lame , a reason that i dont buy this game
this is easy to implement, so there's not really an excuse other than "other things have priority right now".
hopefully it gets added within a few weeks.
I can't understand why they would implement it so? We already have the mouse to turn.
Cyan -- in the next patch please allow the Left and Right arrow keys to be set to strafe left and right, as the A and D keys are. Thank you.
Apparantly this little guide ain't working. It looks like they altered the game and removed all configuration files, integrating them into the executable. Don't know why. Seems like the most idiotic move they could make. As a result, The game is quite unplayable. Especially since the right shift won't work for running.
Scratch that, apparantly I misread and put the file in the wrong folder. Anyway, it works, but still, that's really annoying. This function should be integrated into the game. As one of the backers who could only now be asked to actually play the game, I demand they fix this!
I've abandoned games that wouldn't allow me to edit key bindings, or even worse, allow me to edit key bindings, but won't allow comma as a valid control key. Why in the name of holy hell not!? Screw you, Mirror's Edge!
You are absolutely right to expect that a game released in 2016 should have fully rebindable controls; it's a really stupid thing for devs leave out.
But -- if you like to play games with keyboard as your input device, you owe it to yourself to get the freeware utility AutoHotKey, which makes it very easy to fully customize controls in any game. You just make a little text file that lists the rebinds you want for each game, save it as a *.ahk file, and then double click it whenever you want to use those rebinds.
Here's an example I used for a game when I wanted to move the WASD keys so my left hand can be on the home row of the keyboard. Pressing 'e' sends a 'w', 'f' sends a 'd', etc. Pause::Suspend lets you quickly go back and forth between your changes and a regular keyboard in case you need to type or something in game.
e::w
f::d
q::tab
d::s
w::LShift
XButton1::NumLock
Pause::Suspend
Install AutoHotKey. Copy the above into Notepad, make the rebinds whatever you want, and save it as "WASD.ahk" or whatever you want to call it, then doubleclick that file whenever you want to use those rebinds.
What a shame that this is still not implemented....
