Help! Elevator button doesn't work
Hi!
After going to the Mayor's house, I took the path across the platform and reached an elevator. I got stuck and couldn't move, and used the solution of going to point and click mode. When I did that, I had gone down the lift (or fallen off it?) and appeared in a room (small one, with a bed, a toilet with a pine, among other spoiler free things). I push the button to go back up, but the lift won't move. There's no other way of leaving the room.
Is there any other way of going back up? Is it a bug or am I missing something to make the lift button work?

Are you talking about the elevator in the Mayor's office? It connects the upper tower, water gate, mayor's office and his sleeping quarters.

Did you complete the power up of the entire town?

It sounds as if you're still at the beginning of the game, I suggest you go to a prior save

If you haven't considered it yet, you should be saving regularly as a safety net due to all the glitches in this game. Some can be overcome by the switch between free roam and point and click, the others can not.

So far the only section that doesn't have anomalies is Soria.

So basically it looks like you've fallen to the bottom of that elevator shaft without having activated the elevator. Yes? Activating the elevator is done one floor above the mayor's office, a place along the ridge line... and if you haven't done that, I'm afraid that Ghidrah1 is right, and if you don't have a prior save, and if Cyan can't help (support@cyan.com) you're kind of going to have to start over.

Thank you! Yes, that's the elevator I meant, but I don't have any prior saves, since I was relying on the autosave and got to this place by accident. Looks like I'll have to start over and remember to save before I reach that point.

Hi! Yes, that's exactly what went on. I think I'll just start over. I had done a lot so far, and it'll take long, but I'm loving the game, so it'll be fun :)
Thanks!

negraclaus,

Hard saves are reliable
Since you've already been through to the error point to quicken your pace you could ignore all the exploring and take care of objectives only.
So see-ins how you didn't definitively answer part of one of my initial questions I'll ask again.

1. Had you already powered up the whole town before crossing the swing bridge getting stuck?

2. Did you already have the info required to use the elevator?

The "crossing the swing bridge getting stuck" user was someone else...

Neg said he crossed the platform to the elevator before getting stuck

Fair... but I wasn't sure the platform was the swing bridge, as there is a platform that the swing bridge meets, which you can reach by the stairs when the swing bridge is open.

I am curious if @negraclaus is playing on a desktop or is playing using VR. I tried to fall through the elevator shaft all around the floor of the elevator. Each play-through I have done the elevator is at the Mayors office level when I first enter the office. I have been trying to "fall" all over the place but no luck. I am playing on a PC desktop.

Note: I typed in "negraclaus" as it appears but the system masks the name even when I added an "@". I tried 🤷‍♂️

Over time, Steam's offensive-words filter changes, and what was possible to select as a user name apparently is now impossible to type in a message body, as a user name or otherwise. I don't know if you could select that username now; I'm not about to try naming myself something offensive even as a test.

LightK,

That's why I originally suggested it might be the players GPU or the card's driver. Tonza people play but not everyone gets trapped in said places even when thye try to.

I thought maybe an older less powerful card or maybe a conflict between something in the driver and game or some other program that's running while playing.
