Is VR equipment a must?
I don't have VR equipment and I don't have the money to get some. So I hope Obduction is playable without VR. Is it?

The question wasn't stupid. Oculus Rift and HTC Vive are alredy on sale and almost every day there are new VR games out on Steam.

Plus a lot of Obduction talking is about the VR version so it is legitimate

Congrats to the awakening from a coma. In between, Occolus Rift CV1 is out an available nearly world wide. Oh, and for further info, there is also a couple of VR only titles until know nowadays, so a question like "is it VR only or can you play it normal." is totally fine and justified.

So this was a stupid question? Before you make snarky comments you should turn on your brain and consider that there are people who have more important things to do than to read the latest gaming news all day. Oh and btw, apparently you are not up to date with your knowledge. Congratulations for shooting yourself in the foot.

MAYBE stupid was a bit strong but people with vr compatability are few and far between at the moment. Oculus rift isnt available in the uk and htc vive is very expensive. My point is if CYAN spent all this time making a game for only these people there not going to make allot of money so in my view it would have to be non vr to make it comercially viable as there are so many more people who havnt got VR..Oduction is first and foremost a pc game for pc people but those lucky enough to have vr and enjoy that extra special experience. Do you get it people???

To be honest, despite some people thinking it's a "stupid question" this is a totally fair point and one which has been an issue for other games on steam also such as P.O.L.L.E.N.

People look at the game icons on the store page and see one of the VR icons there, it's not unresaonble to think that the game REQUIRES VR, because a lot of the games on Steam with the icon are just that - games which were made specifically and exclusively for VR and which need a headset.

I'm actually a little afraid that this will hurt the sales of Obduction as people pass over it assuming it to be VR-only.

Perhaps Steam should add some kind of 'PC monitor' icon to be used for games which have VR but also have standard monitor support.

Rift and Vive are indeed both available in the UK and the rest of the world, in fact, just last week oculus announced a UK base that is already up and running to deal with future UK sales. I'm in the UK and ordered my Rift 6 weeks ago, from the american site, got it 6 days later as it was dispatched from amsterdam. Having some clue about what you're talking about generally helps.
