Kaptar Russian Machine code not working
Hi guys. I have some problems with the Russian machine in Kaptar. I have achieved the (19 digit) code from the lower cave (near the great shaft with lot of flying creatures). However, when I type in these numbers on the russian machine (making sure display is empty first) and pressing Enter, display is erased and nothing happens. I use to make sure the right numbers are entered into the display before pressing Enter. I have tried both when the machine is up (and ladder down) and when the machine is lowered (and ladder is up and can't be reached from below).

I hope you can help me. Thank you in advance

Regards Øystein

I was able to enter the code with the ladder down (machine up)... and got an achievement. A very minor event happened too, though I won't ruin it in case you get it to work. Not required for game completion it seems.

Sorry, not sure what other conditions apply.

are you hitting enter on your keyboard or the enter button on the machine?

Hi again. Thanks for answers so far

#chumface I am hitting the number buttons (to the left of buttons with russian symbols) and the Enter button on the machine.
Do I need to have the lights on (by pressing some of the other buttons)?

PS: is it only me, or is clicking the buttons on this machinery a pain-in-the-neck? If I am not perfectly in front of the machine, I can click the mouse button while hovering over the "0" button (on the machine) but still ending up with "1" being pressed. Any hints to make this easier?

PPS: I also have managed to progress in the game without solving this machine puzzle. But still it would be nice to have that achievement.

Try moving left or right until you are directly in front of the button you're trying to press.

There are actually 20 digits in that code. I've seen that situation where the note would only display 19 digits on a computer and 20 on another.

Hmm. So there is maybe 1 digit missing on the note? I have right now only one computer available that can play this game. But I could always try to guess the missing number. Since the code is splitted into 2 lines on the note, is it likely that the missing number must be at the end of 1st line?

When thinking of it, maybe changing the resolution could solve the problem. Can try that next time I play.

It should be 20 digits long. I had the same problem, and I realized I could see the last number, oh my had to re-enter the code 9 times till it accepted it lol

I managed it now. I just had to guess the last, invisible, digit on the first line on the note. I got the Sweet Revenge achievemwnt and the machine fell down. I also managed to toggle easter Egg mode (using walkthrough, as it was no way to guess that code), but I didn't manage to get the best 2nd achievement (even when using code from walkthrough). But I skipped that and moved on. Have now completed the game with 14 out of 15 achievements.

Thank you for your good help :)

I know this post is old, but for anyone finding this page, I can confirm that changing the resolution (to 1920x1080) made the note show a 20th digit.
