I remember the first Overlord game, which was kind of a fresh concept filled with edgy dark humour and then there was a second one, where everything was polished. And then, there's Fellowship of Evil that seems to be throwing most of what made first two games great out the window. For a second I was thinking some third party made it and Codemasters only published it (like Fuel, racing game that basically sucks). But no, Codemasters made it, so I don't understand as I think of them as one of the most reliable devs on the market these days.
I'm not buying Fellowship of Evil. Thank you, Steam users.
this is NOT an overlord game, this is poop :P
Denny Crane here. This video game, where well intentioned just was (as stated numerous times) was just poorly executed. I expected a "silly" spin of the Overlord name. I get that. But it was sloppy, the combat was basic at best when not repetative, the lack of combat abilities, the lazy movies (my office IT guy says to call them "cut scenes") the fact that you cannot unlock everything the first time through, the fact that as long as you have the highest minion staff combat looses all difficulty...
I could go on. Another video game did something JUST like this. Lucius. The sequel is riddled with bugs and lazy computer programming. The "cut scenes" are just as lazy, looking like cardboard cut outs... place holders that never got replaced. I blame that engine thing called Unity. Both video games use it and both video games were crap.
Denny Crane. You would be wrong. I was cautious like others. I said I was willing to give this video game a chance. I did, I beat it. I reviewed it.
the Lucius Series and the Overlord series are completely different branches, And thats a poor excuse to use. If i was to say God Of War bugs are similar to Darksiders bugs due to using same engine, then show us. Get Proof.
They didn't have much money left, as a dying game studio they decided to see about one of their successful titles: Overlord, their idea in brainstorming was:
CodeMaster Worker 1: How can we know if people still Buy the game if they may not even play it anymore?
CodeMaster Worker 2: Perhaps re-vitalise the series with a mini-branch leading OFF the main series, then we may create another real next title, and depending on results we may make an O3.
So really, all the negative reviews just demolished your chances of seeing an Overlord 3, Feel guilty much? You ruined the chances of seeing the game you like because they simply released a mini-branch that not many people liked.
(Similar In Game-Product Branching of Overlord Series) Similar to Fable series with that final title, instead you explored the world of Fable and seen it in Lore perspective, not you making the Story, it was a Mini-Branch, and before it the last fable was infact the last fable of the main branch, then it expanded to internet-online Fables Etc.
Yet more proof of another internet sissy. This generation is full of them and they are multiplying. First of all, let me puts things in as clear a way as possible, yet if I offend your overly sensitive ideals I don't care.
1. When Knarl says the "Trials of Evil 2," 'TM," that is pretty plain English. Whether they even make another after this failed product, I can't say. Hopefully if they do make another Overlord video game, they will have learned their lesson. How you think what Knarl said can be interpreted in ANY other way shows your ability to lie to yourself about the truth in front of you - in life and video games.
2. The Lucius series and the Overlord series are two completely different series. Yes, very good. The first correct thing you have said.
3. I never played God of War nor this Darksiders (maybe a Star Wars video game I don't know about). So I cannot comment on them but is it true they both use the same "engine?" If so, okay.
4. You want proof, I have proof. Play Lucius 2. Both it and Trials of Evil TM both use the same "engine" and the same bugs and method of in game videos are displayed. In Lucius 2, they ACTULLY use computer generated (CG / CGI) cardboard cutout figures in place of actual videos like most video games use these days. All those videos you saw in Trials of Evil TM were just better painted. I am not exagerating. Look it up. So there is proof that the Unity "engine" is substandard and only produces sloppy work.
5. How could they know? This video game series is on Steam now. They could monitor the sales there. Next, you fabricated that whole conversation and logic. So not only is your whole argument here now void, it shows not even the lengths in which you will lie to yourself (because I bet you do believe the fake conversation you just typed) believe that everything is okay.
6. Guilty? Let's be honest, you've never read Beyond Good and Evil. And someone named Mr.Evil hasn't read it make me think you're just not evil at all. So asking whether I, Denny Crane, feel guilty about being honest about something that deseves honesty (critical or supportive) is a bad question. This is partly the problem with society today, if our kids aren't jerking off to that pony porn crap, then they are so controled by the politically correct (PC) society, they have been programmed to think that anything negative or confrontational is wrong. Face it, Trials of Evil TM was a sloppy, poorly designed video game.
7.Final point, all those negative reviews which you so apparently hate, are based on reality, which you apparently don't live in and refuse to enter. So if there isn't another video game of Overlord (part 3) that is because of a series of very expensive mistakes that were made. Not because us bullies spoke our minds.
Denny Crane.
