Final Outpost: Definitive Edition

1. Is there a demo?
Yes, the demo was released on 9th December 2024 and will remain available.

2. When will the game be released?
Final Outpost: Definitive Edition launched on 22nd May 2025.

3. Will there be achievements?
Yes, there are 48 achievements to unlock in FO:DE.

4. Will there be modding support?
No, unfortunately we haven't built the game with modding in mind so modding support will not be feasible for us to implement.

5. Is there multiplayer or co-op?
FO:DE is single-player only. Again, we haven't built the game with multiplayer in mind so multiplayer or even local co-op would not be feasible for us to implement.

6. Any plans to support Linux / Mac?
Yes, we support Windows, Mac and Linux from day 1.

7. Does it support 4K / Ultrawide monitors?
Yes, the game fully supports 4K and ultrawide monitors up to 32:9 in aspect ratio.

8. Does it run at 60 FPS
Yes. The game also runs at 120+ FPS if your monitor can display it and your GPU can handle it. GPU requirements are relatively low.

9. What engine did you build it in?
We built FO:DE in Unity.

10. Does it support controller / keyboard?
The game has keyboard & mouse and full controller support.

11. Can I remap controls?
Remapping of controls is not confirmed.

12. Who composed the music?
The soundtrack was composed by Ben Randall.

13. What were your inspirations?
Final Outpost was inspired by a range of management games like Prison Architect and city-builder games like Caesar III, with much of the world inspired by The Walking Dead. You can read more about the origins of the game here [www.finaloutpostgame.com].

14. How much RNG is in the game?
There is some RNG in elements like weather, survivors arriving at your gates, some weapon damage, job timings etc, in order to give a different experience on each play-through. However, this may change through the development of FO:DE as we move towards a satisfying meta-progression.

15. How long is a playthrough?
One playthrough takes 6-8 hours. There are then 38 modifiers with 1000 possible combinations to play as you settle more Outposts across the map. You can also choose to play a single Outpost endlessly.

16. Is Final Outpost still going to be available?
Yes, the original game is going to remain available for free on iOS and Android.

16. Is Final Outpost: Definitive Edition going to be on mobile too?
Yes, FO:DE will be available on PC, Mac, Linux, Android and iOS.

The full game has an option to enable/disable the tutorial before each game.
