So I just drop in, gather stuff, and hope to survive? Are there any story elements? Can I find things that explains what the hell is going on? Does is matter what contracts I take beyond rewards? Genuine questions. Game looks cool but is there any reason to drop in beyond getting better gear?

Vague story elements. You unlock codex entries. The contracts don’t matter outside of rewards. Not a story driven game.

They sort of ported the idea of the original marathon into an extraction shooter. There is an overarching story as you progress through the AIs priority missions

There are complete wipes that happen as well. Which is another part that confuses me. Or.. I think I seen a video on wipes.. but thats one of the problems.. the in game menu and UI does not have any HARMONY whatsoever.. its so convoluted that its truly frustrating the first 5 rounds or so. Its so crazy to see so many different fonts on the screen at one time. Almost like just figuring out the UI and augments are a game feature. Especially when you cant look at an item and know what it is at a glance in the midst of trying to loot fast, while also on a timer... Why are there timers? Like whats the story behind the timer? Does our shell just shut down?
