Looks like Concord's back on the menu.
In all seriousness, yeah, this is going the exact way of Concord. 40$ game when everyone else is free? Strike one. Terrible art design? Strike two. Characters that look like crap? Strike three. You're out.

You guys seem to not remember that there was many factors about Concord beyond just the game itself. It was bound to fail regardless it needed to be a massive success, and that was never realistic. People seem to forget that nearly $400 million was spent on its development. Marathon might end up as a failure or a success, but either way, it’ll never come close to what Concord was.

This game is DOA, and the reddit is huffing some serious HOPIUM. This game is screwed

Sony paid 3.6 BILLION for Bungie. It is quite literally NINE TIMES WORSE than Concord.
1. Horrid take on a game that is in a alpha test. 2. Devs have clearly stated that graphics are toned down for alpha test source: https://www.bungie.net/7/en/News/Article/alpha_update
3. You cant have an opinion if you haven't even played the game. 4. Concord is an outrageous game to think is good in any sense and reflect massively on how you even see games, which then leads to anything you say in regards to feedback or hate mongering completely and utterly useless/invalid. 5. Saying a $40 price point is bad for an extraction shooter when having that any form of a price point partially solves the problem of cheaters that get banned and make a new account then continue to cheat for free over and over is WILD, you must not understand anything in FPS genre or how a price point is actually a great thing for games in general. Instead of Devs shoving new cosmetics down ur throat like COD in order to make a profit they can focus on new in game content. 6. Please stay on concord, no one wants you to leave that sorry excuse for a FPS anyways.

Found the marathon defending concord developer's steam account :wowbob:
They're going to have to do some serious graphic revamping (or 'toning up') if they expect this to compete with The Cycle,

the items look like something out of a 20 year old game,

do they plan on using completely different item models?

The UI looks like an excel spreadsheet too,

Part of the genius of The Cycle was how everything blended together with minimal UI and maximum graphics immersion - without looking like it was 'trying hard' to reach "Max Resolution TM" with every texture,

I don't know what's going on with the Marathon marketing strategy but they need to hurry and get their 'planned graphics' in place because if people are looking at these videos they will go away thinking the actual 'release game' will look like that and many won't bother with it anymore,

If it's 'alpha' why are they allowing videos of it to be shown?

Anyways, rambling aside this looks like a bad joke compared to The Cycle and all this, "well it's alpha its current graphics are not representative of the full release" are just adding to the confusion..

(in other words, not helping build and maintain marketing momentum, quite the opposite..)
