Imagine trying to make a MOBA, that isn't free to play, while there's already DotA and LoL that are absolutely dominating the market and have been established names for a dozen year and more? It's like... Delusional imo...
- Pete Parsons
- Burnout / lack of interest in PvPvE extraction shooters, which feel like a BR variant
- Premium price tag with added microtransactions and a battle pass
- The amount of content that will be in the game at launch
And why are there battlepasses??
Back in my days you could unlock skins by beating a game in hard mode or by unlocking new game plus, not through paying
We don't know the actual cost yet I don't think. It won't be $70, that's all we know so far. So it could be like $30-50.
And I don't know how many details there are about the monetization of the rest of the stuff either.
Battle passes are confirmed, no price yet.
I believe a cash shop was also confirmed.
The original Marathon is still there if you want to play it.
Knock yourself out.
And not having a solo queue.
How is a PvPvE game with no story, where you play as a 3D printed robot that shoots other robots, woke?
Personally I'm not too upset about that, but I get why many would be. I feel like some sort of solo mode would be added eventually (if the game lasts long enough that is).
Good luck though
I have little to no faith in them rn...
Iirc, this concept of Marathon(Extraction shooter PvPvE)
Got cancelled twice in the past, due to poor drafts & negative feedback
For some reason, it resurfaced again lately and going to launch full price later this year
The artstyle is kinda cool, reminds me of Risk Of Rain series
And this dystopia theme, where everything even everyone has a price tag on it
However, that's it, period
If this doesn't go well for Bungie, they'll go down just like BioWare.
"Bungie" used to stand for awesomeness once
But now it's just a ghost of what it once was...
Bro, that's super lame.
I mean these aren't my opinions, I'm looking forward to the game even if I don't believe it's going to have much longevity, these are just the most common reasons I've seen from people hating on it, obviously there's some valid concerns too but there's also a huge element of if it doesn't cater to me 100%, then it's garbage
The only thing this game is doing is taking away development time from their flagship which has grown stale the last couple of months. All in the name of releasing this cash grab of a pr stunt. Don't justify this game being anything more than that because I promise you, you're gonna get bitten. Bungie is selling their logo this time around. There's no way they're going to make this a better experience than their Destiny 2 game.
