Marathon

Marathon

Suggestion To Developer.
I still remember how I felt when I watched "Marathon | Official Announce Trailer" And
"Marathon | Save the Date Trailer". Even though there was no gameplay shown at the time, I felt like I really wanted to play this game.

But after I saw the Gameplay Overview and Marathon | Creator Alpha Gameplay Highlights, I started to feel a bit concerned.

The first thing I have to admit is: "I think the gunplay looks genuinely fun." The shooting seems impactful. There's clear attention to detail in the SFX, gun sounds, and the audio when getting hit everything feels solid and weighty. It honestly looks fun.

However, what I’m worried about is the graphics and art style. I feel like "if the intention is to go with this kind of art style," then the graphics should be made fully realistic. Right now, it feels stuck in between it's neither cartoonish nor realistic. I feel like the game's art style reminds me of Spectre Divide (which has since shut down). It had the same issue of being half-baked trying to be cartoonish but not fully committing. The game lacked a clear and strong visual identity. I’m worried that Marathon might not be able to attract a large player base because of this indecisiveness.

So I really hope that within the five months before release apart from gameplay feedback gathered during CBT the graphics will also get some improvements beyond what they are right now. Most importantly, I think the *Battle Pass* or *Season 1* will be the real deciding factor for how long this game can survive in the market.

Because, honestly, the characters look like cyborgs, and cyborg themes aren’t exactly a popular trend in gaming right now. I hope the skins will look cool and stylish enough to make players genuinely want to own them.

In any case, I’d like to leave this feedback for your consideration. Thank you.
