Steam profile background bad quality?

Hello, I came across the background images for the Steam profile and in themselves (especially in the small preview) they look very good and promising.

Unfortunately I had to realize that the quality of the files used is rather poor. I checked the metadata and couldn't find a big problem here either. Therefore it is probably the case that the images were stretched to a higher resolution(???), the quality makes the background images worthless in any case.

1920 x 1202 pix; 96 dpi; 24 bit

Could the developers/publishers please take care of this? And set a better quality on Steam? I have heard in the past that such files could also be changed.

Hi,

This games is now almost 15 years old.
I am not sure if we still have the original files.

That would be a shame, alternatively isn't there the file in the game itself?
