The length of OVERALL game-play will be likely MUCH longer then Gaiden due the MUCH bigger map of hawaii AND the new areas being created for this game..........including all the activities that can be done in it, old and new.
And that's not even including the sea-faring aspect.
Imo, if a person embraces the things that can be done in this game, and not just the story, it will probably be about 60-70 hours. For reference- to do pretty much everything and explore for "Man who erased his name" it was about 18-20 hours.
yeah that game its short as hell... and i dont know if i should refund this cause... i only played judgment and im currently playing yakuza 0 hahah so maybe... i should refund and when i get there buy the game? i just wanna have it so i already got it when i got there... but its a long journey hahaa
too little time, too many games
But just from looking at the trailers and everything I feel like this game will have plenty of content even if it is "only" a spinoff
The main story is confirmed to be 30 hours, but with all the sidequests I would expect the game to be 50-60 hours
So the game can take anywhere from around 16 hours for main story only and 35+ depending on how much side content and time padding activities they add (regarding the previous comment, the devs never claimed the main game is 30 hours long, they said it can easily take over 30 hours on a 100% playthrough).
All in all, a tough sell at its current price if the quality of the main game isn’t high and side content significantly more entertaining than what was added by default in Hawaii.
do you think i should refund it? cause the only one i played was judgment and now started with yakuza 0. i bought the other games when they were cheap (im argentinian) and recently bought 8 and the man who erased his name... i think the price of that game its fine with a discount... but if this game its the same for 30 hours of 100%... dont think it is worth :/ that money its a lot but i dont know if im going to be able of buy the game in the future... what do you recomend? i mean im sure the game its a blast not saying its bad or anything like it
No idea, it’s up to you if it’s worth it.
I personally was extremely disappointed with Infinite Wealth and as a last act of goodwill, for the dev which made many excellent games in the past, I also reluctantly preordered the deluxe edition of this one (reluctantly because as much as I want to hope it ends up being surprisingly better and more fun, what they’ve shown so far was pretty abysmal), but if it ends up not being a considerably better time than 8, it’ll definitely go the way of Forza for me (as in no longer buying their games unless considerable effort is put into making substantially better games, but the teaser of Project Century looked quite positive in that regard).
Now, to compare a few other games to this...
Tomb Raider took me 3 months to finish. Resident Evil 4 on PS2 took me 31 days. Now they can each be completed in 10-15 hours. Doesn't make them any less worth the price for being 1/10th the length of LAD mainly because mini games are meant to be time killers and extend your overall play. Pirate Yakuza will have (Mario) Kart, Crazy Taxi, Virtua Fighter, Golf, Gambling, Scavenger Hunts, New Frontier Exploration, and the business of managing dozens of crew members. It's really not fair to subtract all of that and say the main quest is only X hours long. You should base the experience on total playtime.
yes thats what im talking about... how long with ALL THERE IS TO DO?
Almost 0 customisation.
Not many side quests per chapter. (practically 0 exploration and its not even worth doing the random combat encounters on the world map)
Combat is only decent.
Im on chapter 4 out of 5 so stuff might change.
Would only recommend to buy it on sale for 30$ or less. And i love musou games
Nobody's subtracting all that, those minigames have objectives that count to 100% completion. The Man Who Erased His Name is ~30 hours with all that included and this one won't take much longer overall past the 30% longer main story, otherwise they wouldn't have said easily 30 hours for full completion, but 40, 50, or more.
The game is expensive for what it is, let's not set unrealistic expectations that somebody will get hundreds of hours out of it, this is a Gaiden title, not a mainline Yakuza (even if it were to offer main title kind of hours your time is exaggerated and most people doing 100% won't be anywhere that, you spent enough time to 100% a third main title, not just 7 and 8 and I'm sure you don't have anywhere near that anyway on your save file which counts actual play time, unlike Steam).
