Is it just me or are the claw machines covered in oil or something, Idk why but 7, IW , Gaiden and this game has made the claw machines unbearable.

One thing that I REALLY liked with this game is that all mini-games aren't mandatory anymore for full completion.

You actually don't have to do the claw machine at all for, well, anything.

There is exactly one thing you need out of the claw machines in this game. If you get one particular prize, you can recruit one additional totally not-mandatory and not particularly good crew member by giving them the prize.

There's no other reason to do the claw machine if you aren't liking it. No achievement you'll miss and no major side story or whatever that you won't be able to complete.

If you just want things just to get them, there are 3 things you can try.

Figure out how to tell where the center point of the prize is and how the claw reacts and grabs the item. If the object and claw are perfectly aligned, you are almost guaranteed to get it.

Also, you could just bang your head on the wall and just keep grabbing at random over and over again. While it isn't ideal, you can get lucky with a corner grab and knock it over to the hole or something.

Or you can just say "to hell with this" and get Cheat Engine. Just for the sake of using speedhacks. I'm not patient and it rarely has an effect on anything. HOWEVER, it does have an effect on the crane game. Seems that the speed of the game is tied to the physics. If you bump it up to 5x speed, grabbing with the claw has a chance to spaz and fling the items about, and pretty easily, it ends up in the hole. This all may vary however, pending on how it reacts with your graphics card. Also, the framerate will only go up if the graphics card allows it. If bumping it to 5x only does the speed of 1.5x, it's because the graphics are too high.

I have A LOT of games to get through, so it helps my sanity to have speedhacks, so I'm not stuck doing one part of the game all day. You can also slow the game down to 0.5x to help with things that require timing that you REALLY don't wanna do. but timing isn't really an issue I commonly have, just ACTUALLY GETTING THE TIME CONSUMING THING DONE.

Dragon Engine games have the UFO Catcher physics tied to the frame rate. If your frame rate is fluctuating, it'll cause the UFO Catcher to go a little wonky at times. What I usually do before a UFO Catcher session is lock the FPS to either 30 or 60 to keep the physics consistent.

nah forget that nonsense, graphics to minimum, unlocked framerate, speedhacks to 20x
GO BALLISTIC
