Disappointed / Ripoff?
just finished the game and felt... ripped off and disappointed?
Game is full price with the amount of content of Like a Dragon Gaiden. Pirate Yakuza relies on you wasting slowly going from island to island, which all look and play the same, or the coliseum / roaming around town during chapter 2.
After spending 13 h in chapter 2, i was like " man, the ship and Majima are so OP already, imagine how easy it'll be going forward... only to find out the game is super short? 5 chapters? really? All yakuza games have a decent/long enjoyable story, but this time? i had to go through the slogs that are the 2 Ichiban games, only to enjoy a true yakuza game that could last less than 10h? game really relies and forces you its side content, just like a cheaper game like Gaiden, and even then, thats a more superior game. wait for a sale!!

The "Review" button is seven sections to the right my dude. Also this is literally a Gaiden game with the same length as the other one. I dunno what you expected. Do your own research before wasting money on things you dont actually want

Yes.. it's a dissapointment.. all the great features like an Island you can build up to get money or your own company, these mini games that take lots of time and give you great power are none existend. Instead you just run booring ship battles wich all play the same... get your best cannons within the first 2 hours and thats that..

Blackflag had so many great ideas and I hoped this one would be filled with crazy stuff and the fun assasins creed black flag were packed with.

Hell even the fighting system is uninspired somehow since all the fights feel the same..
If I may, Pirate is on title, ship voyages are kinda are on the menu... maybe be thankfull? with it being a couple of minutes without storms and tsunamis

I think it suffers the Arkham Knight issue... a new mechanic that overstay its welcome
^ What's the Arkham Knight issue?

+ I loved the game. I'll agree that there are flaws in it but not enough for me to regret buying it or even feeling disappointed. It seems that the vast majority of reviewers also loved it but I can understand why one wouldn't, tbf.

like how they shoved the BatMobile because it was new, they shoved the whole ship thing on you. I would appreciate more pirate stuff than just going from copy paste island to another. also just Honolunu? i wish they brought things to Ijincho at least

Aaaah, ok I see. Thanks for the description.

Imo, although the ship definitely feels "original" in a Yakuza game, I loved it :(...
