Game overheats PC?
Is anyone having the same issue? I'm at Honulu right now and it is the second time my Laptop shuts down during gameplay. I've used MSI afterburner and the temps seem stable. Switch off the monitoring and kept playing, then after 5 minutes the laptop shuts down. There is no way the temps raises like that significantly unless is a game problem. Laptop is new and never had this problem before.

Have you tried frame capping to 60 fps?

Did you install latest nvidia 572.60 driver ? If yes i suggest revert back one of the older versions. Apparently another guy reported an issue about overheating

The Laptop shut down before I've downloaded the 572.60 driver. Them, I've decided to download the driver to see if the problem persisted. Not sure what I'm gonna do now. Thanks.

I would suggest to always check every game you install and put vsync and cap

As a rule...
So even I undervolt the CPU in BIOS /turn off turbo boost, the game still overheats the CPU. frame capping to 60 fps, seems to work. Temps are normally 86 - 91. Keep in mind that I'm using a MSI laptop so it can be different experience than desktop users.

I had a similar experience with an Acer gaming laptop. Overheating 86ish+ temps, I should add that I am also using a cooling pad also. I stopped playing after about an hour of playing on the laptop. I played Infinite Wealth on this same Acer laptop recently entirely without issue at ultra settings even, mostly 70s to very low 80s max temp wise. Thankfully I can continue to play on a desktop with no issues. On the desktop the temperatures are around the mid 70s to high 70s on ultra settings for the most part. For all I know there is a fix for the laptop overheating issues that I just simply missed but I did not continue to look into it. Maybe I will update this post if I do. I hope it works out for you!

TLDR: You aren't the only one having issues on a laptop, but I don't see the same issues on a desktop at all. I also did not have issues with Infinite Wealth on the same laptop.

By normally, do you mean that's what you feel comfortable with? If so, that's extremely high
maybe if youre playing on a potato, im playing on the highest settings and dont even get a bit of overheat and im on a 1660
