I cannot leave a positive review, LAD 8 assets for 60 bucks ?
Don't get me wrong i love yakuza series.

I was a little skeptical on LAD 8 with the new game + behind a paywall.

Now, with Pirate Yakuza in Hawaï we have this spin off using all LAD 8 assets for 60 bucks.

The game can be finished in 1 evening if you push toward mani quest.

This game should be 30 bucks not 60. I mean i like the game it's not bad. But not for 60 €

Next time i will reconsider buying your games SEGA.

Sorry, where was all the pirates and pirate ships in Yakuza 8? Using the same map isn't using the same assets.

New Game+ HAS ALWAYS BEEN BEHIND A PAYWALL. the only difference is that Yakuza 8, was the first Yakuza to receive a simultaneous ASIA and Western release, so we didn't get the one year late, every DLC included version.

Not all Mario games are worth $60, but people don't question it.

RGG struggled financially for many years between 2008-2018 turning out games very quickly to stay afloat. This is why they re-used the same areas.

They actually spoke on that.

We true fans of the series stuck with them...when folks like you would have complained about the reused areas for the price.

Frankly, I don't mind paying the full cost for a spin-off every now and then if it helps prevent them from financial crisis again.

You really telling me that $20-$30 extra between now and when Project Century releases in the next year or two will make any impact on your financial status or security?

You need to get a better job, much better.

Then why LAD the man who erased his name was at reasonable price ?

Water matter? Pretty sure if you do a quickly research about Perfect Chaos of Sonic Adventure on the web, may pop up a article that some dev chosen water "matter" to show something like graphics power of it,

It took me 23 hours to beat Gaiden doing a lot of side activities, completing pocket racing, and doing every Akame network substory, I am still in chapter 2 at 13 hours with this game and haven't even upgraded my ship or fought in the coliseum. This game is by far MUCH meatier than Gaiden, so I am okay with paying the extra money since there is so much more content so far.

Then you'd know that every single one of their games is 90% re-used assets.

Uh, because that game is mainly reusing the same environment for the 4th time or so.

Also, the map for Man Who Erased His Name is like 1/30th of the size of this game.

The amount of activities in this new game is at least 10x more.

You're like comparing a bike to a motorcycle.

Disagree with the OP no issues with gameplay or length, it just looks terrible.

Guys, they could sell you a game for 200 bucks with 20 hour lenght...

Still people will defend them on the forum and you all know it.

I like the game and i have no problem with reused assets as long is the final price is ok for a small spin off. (And don't tell me the game is huge i'm almost finished main story in 17 hours, Took me 117 hours for LAD 8 meh)

I bought the game on third party website because the price is too high, and i bet i'm far from being alone in that case.

I just completed Gaiden some weeks ago i really tok my time it lasted 46 hours to get all trophies. We will see for this one, i'll be back once i'm finished.

It's not a matter of opinion. It's a fact that the map from Gaiden is incredibly small compared to this game. Not opinion. Fact. It's not an opinion that this game offers a lot more side content. It's a fact.

If you you played 46 hours in Gaiden and 117 in LADIW then that only means one thing........just one...is that you purposely drew it out as much as you possibly could. How did you do that? by focusing on things that weren't part of the main story.

Yet, you are acting like those large numbers should be weighed in the scale of 17 hours of this game largely only due to the main story.....which you have not even finished and are rushing through it. You are NOT squeezing out this game anything close like you have with prior games.

If you like RGG games you should be THANKING us for paying for it and helping RGG stay in business to make a future game you will like more.

So, where's the appreciation? This is the time to say "thank you".......Go on, don't be shy.

I find your posts to be extremely misleading with the aura that would make a used car sales man proud.

Why do you care so much what I or any of us do with our money? How is it hurting you personally? How does my paying for this game affect your behavior with your loved ones?

If you say it doesn't? Obviously it does in some kind of way.

RGG games are notorious for recycling content and assets. It's not new. Darts, Mahjong, Batting cages... How many games have we already had that took place in Kamurocho? Long time fans know that RGG manages to keep things fresh in spite of that.

In terms of value, you need to take into account new things like sailing, ship battles, whole new substories, voice acting etc. There's really no shortage of things to do in this game.

Of course, value is subjective at the end of the day. I think the price is reasonable, but it's fine if others prefer a discount.
OP professes loving the Yakuza series then won't pay for a Yakuza game while also not understanding how they're meant to be played. Weird dude.

Edit: has over 100 hours in both Y0 and LaD:IW and still hasn't figured out how all this works.

They've been reusing maps for the entire series. Almost every entry features Kamurocho with some minor changes. Sotenbori's been reused a lot. Same with the location in Like a Dragon/the beginning of Infinite Wealth. I feel it's largely understood that the game takes place in the same general locations, just maybe some time later. We watch TV series that continuously use the same sets/locations, I don't see why a game with that same thing is problematic.

If it's a matter of money, then I recommend not buying any of them until they're on sale. There's no shame in it. I only bought this at full price because I had some gift cards from Christmas. I'm not really in the financial position to purchase games $60-70 each, so I won't fault anyone else for feeling that way. But do understand that the game takes place largely in the same districts/cities. Even the games that deviated temporarily eventually came back.
