Fixed Native HDR Mod [Pirate in Hawaii]
**Update: The mod now with 3 games! Gaiden, Infinite Wealth, and Pirates in Hawaii!**

- Now fixs all the crushed detail when using FSR3 FG -- HDR only!

I've been working on HDR mods for a while, and decided to make one for this game.

The ingame sliders for selecting peak and game brightness are lame. Also the game uses cursed math, which crushes blacks/destroys detail.

This isnt "AutoHDR" like a lot of other mods out there, but actually modified game code to have the game run in HDR

1) Download and install reshade 6.4 + addon support into your LAD Pirates folder
-- Download link to the latest version of reshade+addon installer: https://reshade.me/downloads/ReShade_Setup_Addon.exe

-- We don't need any shaders/effects, we just use reshade to inject our mod

2) Download the mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/likeadragonpirateyakuzainhawaii/mods/31?tab=description

3) place renodx-yakuzapirates.addon64 in the same folder as your likeadragonpirates.exe [The install folder -- \steamapps\common\LikeADragonPirates\runtime\media]

Installation notes:

- Enable Native HDR in game
- Control UI Brightness via the mod (Press the home key)
-- The mod will replace the ingame sliders in the menu; rendering them useless!

Press "home" and "renodx" to control the mod. Vanilla+ is the mod; while "Vanilla" turns the mod off.

This is awesome!

Your solution makes it so much better—kudos to you, and many thanks.

I wonder if companies even test HDR on PC before release.

Of course, there are so many compatible screens and variations, but it usually isn’t as much of an issue on consoles.

Hi Fren! I was checking out your mod(Due to brightness stuff) BOTH of my screens have HDR but for some reason HDR is greyed out for me in game. Most games recognize, even switch to HDR automatically for me. Any ideas what might cause the issue?

Make sure HDR is on in windows, and the game is in borderless mode.

If its still greyed out; I don't know sorry.

I literally was looking at my Windows HDR settings right now. Normally I don't use it(games switch automatically most of the time even though I turn it off) because colors look too dull in HDR to me for some reason, but will try and report if it works.

Update: This definitely works with HDR screens, at least game looks bearable. Downside is if you don't like using HDR -weird, I know- it is a real hassle to change the whole settings of your screen.
Fantastic, thanks for sharing! Will definitely get the job done before an official patch drops <3
I've realized something very interesting; I was fooling around with the in game phone cam, realized that with the cute/nighttime filters, the game's color&brightness improves a ton for me. Funny that in game camera filter makes the game look better.

To fix greyish HDR, I use the shader "levels" from ReShade. It works most of the time by tweaking black and white point levels.
Thanks for this, it works well and definitely fixes the issues I was seeing. I don't understand how they can ship an HDR mode that just does not work and messes up the whole image.
