Is this game actually good?
I'm considering it, but it looks non-nonsensical, and more like something that would be boring quite fast from what I can tell in the videos, kind of like goat simulator.

If you don't like the beat em up style yakuza games mixed with the rpg elements and random mini games then you won't. Otherwise it's awesome so far. I already put 2 hours in (offline sadly, internet just got repaired). But I find the combat in these games to be really satisfying.

It's a JRPG and nothing like goat simulator,

Fair enough, I wasn't a huge fan of the earlier yakuza games, probably just not for me then, thanks for the viewpoint.

The problem is they release too many Yakuza-likes too quickly imo. I can't keep up. I'm interested and I like this one's twist on the formula, but I still have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ huge backlog of games already filled by Yakuza-ish games, actually doing the first Judgment...l'll pass this one until yeeeears later. I already have Yakuza 7, Like a Dragon Ishin, Like a dragon Gaiden, Infinite Wealth and Judgment 2 to do first. I feel like there is at least one Yakuza release per year minimum since half a decade or so. It's just too much.

That's like me, but with tv shows.

it's not really anything like the early Yakuza games imo.
Tthe combat is much faster paced. I vastly prefer the combat in 7 and infinite wealth, but I am loving this so far. The combat fits Majima's personality as being mad as ♥♥♥♥.

I'd LOVE them to do again something else and fresh away from their usual formula, as they did with Binary Domain (LOVED this game).

We got 3 yakuza games in one year, the ishin remaster in I think it was March 2023, MWEHN in September 2023, then IW in February 2024. So it was packed.
It's peak gaming mane, grab it

If you're a sheep who loves tiktok, memes, don't care about lore, have no brain and press 1 single button and doesn't want to engage with gameplay mechanics, it is the game for you.

I did get bored with the previous games really fast, that's why I asked the question. Looked like previous titles with a pirate theme.

hows the actual story in this? i've seen next to nothing about the story. Does it have a quality story. I really couldn't care less about the mini games and pirate stuff.

What story? You attack with the sword. Like a pirate. Blood! What other story do you need?

Depends who you ask. One reviewer loved the pirate stuff and didn't enjoy having to do the dramatic yakuza typical storyline stuff.
