They don't actually do much damage if you upgrade your armor.
Never got so far as to get leather. Between the spawn rate of mobs and the glacial movement speed (and/or lack of stamina) to gather crafting materials (with frequent interrupts by mobs), I didn't get very far.
Valheim is a good example, the first area is a fairly low threat area to allow the player to get used to building and understanding the mechanics. Then as you travel into the next area bump up the threat level until the character can build up the armor and resources to move to the next stronger area. It gives a constant feeling of progression and accomplishment.
Also it would be nice if you could equip your cat girl companion with a weapon and dress her in armor to help fight off goblins. Let her follow you as an option or she can go back to her tasks at home.
Dev's if your reading please consider an option of dressing and equipping our companions.
also walk speed needs to be much higher... or stamina needs to be ALOT less punishing...
