Bloons TD5

Virus while downloading the game.
My McAfee Antivirus Plus detected a virus within one of the files while I was downliding BTD 5 (thus causing Steam to not be able to find it). I could not run the game (through Steam). For more details on what the virus is, see this link [home.mcafee.com]. The file infected is BTD5-Win.exe

I have been able to restore the file by setting an exception to McAfee. To find how to "unquarentine" the infected file, click this link [service.mcafee.com]. Also you will need to add it as an exception with your real-time scanner.

EDIT 2: Nope. Must disable real time scanning all together, to fix it. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥, but it must be done. Please fix :(

It's a false positive, friend.

I know it is. I just thought I would mention it to see if anyone else with McAfee Antivirus Plus is/was having the same issue

Edit 2: McAfee's interface is very clunky. I was able to add it to the exception list of the real time scanner.

I kind of did it? First, I turned off real-time scanning. I restored the file BTD5-Win in the download folder (C:/Programfile(x86)/Steam/steamapps/downloading/<randomnumbers>). After that I continued the download of the game. Then I turned on real-time scanning, and VERY FAST I hit "add file" under the exmpted list. I then selected BTD5-Win.exe (from .../steamapps/common/BloonsTD5). I then had to reverify my steam cache, and it works fine.

Note: I have only played it once, and it was directly after I turned the real-time scanning back on. I have no idea if this is a permanant fix, and I will do some more testing with it when I finish my History HW.

I usually don't like it when people straight out call something terrible. This is an exception. I agree. When my subscription is up (Christmas) I will probably get something better. I'll check out Avast when I get a chance
