Microtranactions?
Bloons TD 5 on Kongregate has microtransations included in the game for such things as buying upgrade money instead of earning it, instant upgrades of all turrets to max levels, and things like triple life for each level. How does all of that factor into the steam version?

not at all, the currencies are tokens (percentage buffs) and monkey money (agents and tower specializations)... both of which you earn plenty by playing the game

^ David is 100% correct.

While you must pay for the Steam BTD5 game itself, all possible upgrades and power-ups within the game are 100% free - meaning, you can earn everything WITHOUT paying a single penny more.

Just keep playing the game and complete maps/achievements. Over time you will have access to everything in the game.

Is it possible to pay money within the game for an advantage?

Pay to win is a sure way I will never buy a game. I don't support devs that do that. Which is why I was hesitant to buy this game seeing that the "free" version of BTD5 was chock full of pay to win. Now that I know it isn't pay to win, I'm probably going to get it.

The web-version had me hooked but the pay-to-win soured it for me. When I saw it on Steam and found out it was play-to-win then I knew I had to have it. Keep the updates coming!
