No you can not, you can only invite people on steam. If you have this game on apple or android. You can play between those devises because you can use facebook as an invite.

You can be matched with players on other devices when playing a quick match, but as Devils Child3P said, you can't connect privately :)

Darn, kind of a bummer but not a huge deal. Any plans to change that in the future

Sam:

This is totally news to me.

Are you saying that if I play a Quick Match in Steam Co-op, I could end up getting a player using Android or iOS versions of BTD5?

Well...this then would seem to be a major possibility for the total unreliability of Steam Co-op, including the random [but seemingly regularly occurring] Co-op disconnects and game crashes.

This might be your problem right there.

I can see where you guys might want to more unify the different tech platforms, but honestly, I think you folks are just asking for trouble by making the game unnecessarily and more technically complex.

More complexity means higher probability for things to go very wrong.

Again, the current unresolved Co-op issues really might stem from this IMO, now that I know about it...

I am guessing [hoping] you guys are looking into this theory?

Nope, that's not what's causing the issue. The co-op crashing problem is actually in the Steam and mobile builds of the game, but playing with a cursor on PC seems make it much more of a common occurrence. Should be fixed soon, though!

@sam:

Well, all I can say is: GOOD LUCK!

Whip Co-op into shape and I [and others] can actually begin to work on all those Co-op achievements maybe.

:P XD

cheers,

Old topic, but I bring it again to life, so any plans in changing that? I want to play with my friend that has a iOS device... it's making me mad....

Not at the moment, unfortunately. The best you can do is search for a match at the same time and hope you get lucky :(

the co-op on the mac app also doesn't work, whenever I try to use it, the only option is game center, and that just says auto match and you cant invite anyone. IT SUCKS. I cannot play with my sister who has the same app on the same device. Try to put on something with a code for people to join because it is fully unclear. HOW DO YOU EVEN POSSIBLY MAKE A PRIVATE MATCH WITH SOMEONE ON A MAC, IT IS SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE!!!

i refunded it anyway
