Are you saying that if I play a Quick Match in Steam Co-op, I could end up getting a player using Android or iOS versions of BTD5?
Well...this then would seem to be a major possibility for the total unreliability of Steam Co-op, including the random [but seemingly regularly occurring] Co-op disconnects and game crashes.
This might be your problem right there.
I can see where you guys might want to more unify the different tech platforms, but honestly, I think you folks are just asking for trouble by making the game unnecessarily and more technically complex.
More complexity means higher probability for things to go very wrong.
Again, the current unresolved Co-op issues really might stem from this IMO, now that I know about it...
I am guessing [hoping] you guys are looking into this theory?

Well, all I can say is: GOOD LUCK!
Whip Co-op into shape and I [and others] can actually begin to work on all those Co-op achievements maybe.
